Maya's heart pounded. She couldn't hear through the rushing through her ears. "What the fuck did you just say to me, Huckleberry?" she demanded.
Lucas grinned at her. "I told you that I'm head over heels in love with you, Maya. Been in denial for a long time but I can't hide it anymore. I want to be with you."
"What the fuck," she repeated, dazed.
"Have anything you want to say to me?" He waited expectantly for Maya to come to terms with the revelation.
She hungrily kissed him. "Same, Lucas."
Not exactly romantic but it did the trick.
