Chapter Text
This is written from the AU of DelicacyRune, where the darkners are personified foods and lightners are chefs. In the context of this AU, Cyber city residents are seafood or drinks, and TV world residents are desserts, with the addisons specifically being sushi, and Tenna is a 3-tier cake.
The Addison types:
- Orange - Salmon (Sake)
- Pink - Shrimp (Ebi)
- Blue - Tuna (Maguro)
- Yellow - Egg (Tamago)
- Spamton - Squid (Ika), will eventually become Spam Musubi.
What was originally a silly idea amongst a couple of like-minded friends, they didn't expect for it to reach for the sky. They were supposed to be a group of advertisers, yet with times being tough, Ika decided to pitch an absurd idea:
"What if we decided to form a Boy Band?"
Of course, the idea didn't seem too bad, even if comical. They can get revenue and sell things this way. So they got togther and formed ideas for advertisements, shows and songs, and merchandise, got themselves a producer (through ostensible means), and now here they were, at the height of their success, surrounded by important figure they thought they'd only meet in dreams.
Ika sat in the corner as he watched Maguro and Ebi converse with the other guests about their achievements, with Tamago flexing for the crowd and Sake helping with serving food. Soon enough, a large figure casted a shadow on him, causing him to look up.
Before him was a red velvet cake darkner, with carefully piped cream cheese icing. They were huge, presumably 3 tiers tall at most in an elegant ballgown. He recognized them immediately: Mr. Ant Tenna.
Tenna looked over at his direction with a light smile.
"Well, look who's arrived to the party! I heard a lot about you and your fellow idols."
"You…you have?"
"Of course! It's wonderful to finally meet you all in person."
The large cake darkner knelt down slightly, dress puffing at the edges.
"Ika, wasn't it?"
"Yeah. That's me…the underdog…!"
Ika jested. Despite being the one with the idea to create the group, he was one of the less popular ones, especially in comparison to the others. Funnily enough, people just call him "Squid".
Tenna chuckled softly, "The underdog? Well isn't that funny, I though you're the one who formed the band."
"I did! Yet I'm just…not that popular, I suppose." He shrugged, bringing his drink up to his mouth for a moment.
"Is that so…well, mind if I give you a offer, Ika?"
Ika paused for a moment. An offer? From one of the most influential figures in all of the Dark Worlds? It took a moment for Ika to recollect enough thought to say something,
"Y-Yeah, I'll bite. What's the offer, Mr. Tenna?"
Tenna thought for a moment, tapping a finger on their fondant. "You know, I've been meaning to reach out to you and your group for a while. So, how do you feel about being featured on my show?"
When he thought he had the words before, they immediately disappeared the moment Tenna offered for a collaboration. And almost bashfully, Ika turned his head away.
"I…I think I'll have to talk to the others, give me a moment, sir…!"
The Squid nigiri quickly shuffled into the crowd, leaving Tenna a bit surprised by how flustered Ika was. Tenna flushed up slightly too, did they come off as too assertive? Tenna couldn't help but laugh, resting their head in their hand and shaking their head softly. Perhaps they'll give him a moment before he makes up his mind...and to give themselves a moment to sort out that fuzzy feeling in their cake and frosting...
