Work Text:
Yukako headed down the stairs, looking around for her purse, finding it on the kitchen table. She slipped it into her bag and headed to the door. Her and her friends had planned on meeting up at the cafe so Okuyasu could tell the group about something wacky he had seen.
She had a strong feeling that whatever he was going to tell them about was nonsense but there was a chance it could be some kind of enemy stand user. Besides, even if they were stupid, she liked when Okuyasu told stories.
Yukako looked in the mirror as she passed by, staring at her reflection.
She examined every inch of her face, her long curly jet black hair that she took perfect care of, the bold white streaks that ran through the front of said hair, her narrow purple eyes lined with thick pretty eyelashes, her high arched black eyebrows, her smooth pale skin, her straight narrow nose, her soft sweet lips, the refined mole on her cheek, her nice tall slender figure.
She couldn’t help but stare in awe at the woman in the mirror. She was gorgeous. It made her think about everything that had happened in the last 3 years.
Moving to Morioh, Yukako got to start over right from scratch. She got to start anew in a exciting new town where no one know who she used to be. She was scared at first, as much as she tried to hide it.
Her mother wasn’t exactly the happiest when she had told her she was a girl but Yukako’s mother never seemed to be particularly happy with her so she stopped trying to care about her opinions.
On top of that, most people at the time had a strong dislike for trans women to put it one way. Under her cool exterior, she worried about how people would react to learning this fact about her. How would they react?
Yukako wasn’t exactly popular with her classmates, seeing her as cold, heartless and creepy but she had managed to find a group of weird people who she could call her friends and even a boyfriend named Koichi.
They were the only people she had told about her transition and she was quite fine with keeping it that way. Not that she was embarrassed by it in any way but it was just none of their business.
She couldn’t be happier to know what the beautiful girl staring at her in the mirror was herself. She couldn’t be happier to have come this far and have the life she had now. She couldn’t be happier to have a group of friends like she had. She couldn’t have been happier to be Yukako.
She smiled at her reflection, fixing her hair before walking away. She stepped out of the door, strutting down to the bus stop, her polished mary jane shoes clacking against the stone footpath with each step. She stepped onto the bus, smiling happily as she waited to meet up with her friends.
