Work Text:
"Clown, this is Branzy, he will be your future husband.", he looked at the boy in front of him with silver hair and purple eyes.
"Me and Mr. Craft will be discussing the marriage details, you two get to know each other, okay?"
Clown and Branzy nod their heads and are left alone in the room.
"Let me get this straight, I don't like you and we will not get involved in each other's business, alright?", Clown tells Branzy and was answered with a nod and a glare.
Surely they won't be together all the time right?
Two years pass by. Two.
They have a daughter and they are always arguing, whether it would be Branzy talking to another woman or Clown being too busy or bossy all the time, the fought constantly. It felt like hell.
"I have the freedom to do whatever I want!" Branzy yells.
"That doesn't mean you get to kiss random women you found at a bar!" Clown yells back.
"Well you're too fucking busy all the time! I got to do something!"
Clown understood his frustration, Branzy always wanted to become an engineer, but when they got married their parents prohibited them from studying for college, so Branzy wasn't able to achieve his dreams.
"You got plenty of other things to do!"
"Like what?!"
"I don't know! Walk through the garden, paint, read shit, I don't fucking care!"
Branzy glares at Clown before turning away and walking out without a single word.
"What--?! Branzy! Get back here! We're not done talking!"
Clown sighs and sits down on the couch. One of the servants came in with his little girl.
"Sir Pierce, Kalani wants to show you something. Go on, show your dad what you made."
Kalani stumbles into Clown's arms and holds up a small sphere, Clown carefully gets the sphere in her hand and twists the top, it ticked down and exploded with confetti making Kalani laugh.
"That's funny huh?"
Kalani giggles and nods her little head, her eyes lit up with joy.
"Sir, if I may, Kalani made that all on her own and she's only a year old, she has skills."
Clown frowned at that, skills, her skills would never be shown to the world, the world will hate her, even if she's good.
"Thank you, Kallie, it's time to go to bed."
Kalani cutely puts her head down and closed her eyes to "sleep", adorable as always.
"Come on Kallie, let's go, Mr. Pierce is busy."
Kalani lifts her hands up and goes into the servant's arms and waves to her father goodbye with the biggest smile she could form. He needed to leave the marriage, for her, but he couldn't, not while she was here. So Clown made one last call to the person he knew would care for her forever.
It's been over a decade since their divorce, not like Clown was counting anyway. After the divorce, Branzy left the country and was finally able to make his dreams come true. He didn't even care enough to say goodbye to their daughter, let alone call her unlike Clown who called every week for nearly two years.
The phone rang and showed his daughter's name on the contact. Clown wasted no time in picking up the phone and putting it on speaker so he could continue working while listening.
"Hey my little inventor, how are you doing?"
"Hey dad, things here have been great, Mia celebrated her 3rd birthday last week, she was so happy..."
"That's nice, is there something on your mind?"
"No it's just--dad, what do you think about vigilantes?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Well maybe it's the fact that... I'm planning to make a group of them."
Clown was startled by her words, Kalani was never the type to choose violence, but if this is what his daughter wants...
"That's great Kallie, I'm happy for you."
"Thanks dad. I gotta go, bye dad!"
Kalani ended the call and Clown continued to do his work, atleast his daughter is happy, that's all that matters.
