Work Text:

It is really fucking cold in the Spectre’s realm.

Being more or less hell and all, one might expect the realm to be warm. Uncomfortably hot, even.

One would be wrong. Builderman was shivering his ass off, still wearing a sweater and zipped up hoodie mind you. The realm usually sat at a cool, slightly chilly but not overly uncomfortable temperature, but in the winter months when the wind started to howl and some days even snow would fall, it became torturously freezy. You’d probably need to be wearing far more than most survivors had the luck of having, and the Spectre was far from generous enough to supply them with winter clothing. The engineer tossed and turned in his bed, thinking of ways he could warm up because sleeping was impossible with the stupid thin blankets they had.

Not even the inside of the cabin was warm. The fire burned low and survivors huddled together for warmth. The temperature wasn’t low enough to kill anyone obviously, but it was more than enough to make them wish it had.

And apparently, Shedletsky has noticed none of it.

Builderman came to this conclusion one particularly cold morning round. His cold, shaky hands traced the neon coloured wiring of a generator while Shed stood guard nearby, sword at the ready.

“Dear 2x2, it’s awfully cold…” He muttered, still fixated on the wires.

“Is it really?” The avian said, a surprised eyebrow raised as he glanced at Builderman.

“...Yes? Are ya seriously tellin’ me you can’t feel it?” Builder looks away from the gen for a second, seeing Shedletsky’s seemingly genuine puzzlement.

“...Noooo??”

Of course. Of course this clown who wears a dumbass t-shirt and shorts every day doesn’t notice the weather. And he was Telamon too, it really did add up. Hell, he used to have a literal halo of fire. His body temp was most likely higher than an average roloxian’s.

An idea struck Builderman. Perhaps it was a tremendously stupid idea, but it sounded better than lying there until the (metaphorical) sun came up.

He rolled out of his bed and left his cabin, headed for none other than Shedletsky’s cabin, huffing as the icy night air rushed to caress him, wrapping him in it’s cold, cold embrace.

He knocked on the door as he reached his ‘friend’s’ cabin, receiving no reply aside from a rumbling snore. With a sigh, he chose to just let himself in. It’s not like the cabins had locks anyway. If it were anyone else, he’d be more reluctant to invade their privacy, but this was Shed, it’s nothing he hasn’t done before. Besides, if it was anyone else, he wouldn’t be here for this reason.

Builderman stood at Shedletsky’s bedside, watching him peacefully snoring away. He couldn’t help but feel more than a bit jealous. His blanket was tossed aside and blissfully ignored. The man wasn’t even wearing a shirt, he had nothing but his boxers on, and by the looks of it he was perfectly comfortable.

He sighed, before he prodded the snoozing avian, once first, then more sharply when he didn’t stir. Shedletsky’s eyes opened slightly, peering at the silhouette looming above him.

“Huhhh…” He mumbled, rubbing his eyes. “Builder? Why are you here..?”

Builderman looked away for a second. Just suck it up and ask…

“Hey Shed. I can’t sleep ‘cause of how cold it is. You mind if I… Sleep wit’ ya?”

Shedletsky blinked dazedly at him in a manner not unlike that of a bird that just flew head first into a window. “What..?”

“Don’ make me ask again…” The engineer facepalmed to hide the way his face grew reddened from embarrassment. “Please Shed… S’ really cold.”

Shedletsky broke into a dumb smile at that. “Am I dreaming or what? The Builderman, Ceo of Roblox, asking to sleep with lil ol’ me?” He chuckled, “I mean at least buy me a drink first-“

“Not like that!” Builderman protested, the flush on his face reddening still.

“Aww, don’t worry, I know what you mean Buildsy.” The admin said with a fond roll of his eye. “C’mere.”

Builderman hesitated for a moment, before allowing himself into Shed’s open arms. The avian immediately pulled him in, pressing Builder’s face right up to his naked chest, which the CEO replied with a surprised ‘ack!’. Not that he minded.

Despite Builderman’s embarrassment, he had to admit that Shedletsky’s skin was pleasantly warm to the touch.

“You really weren’t kidding, man. You’re cold as hell.” Shedletsky muttered, peering down at Builderman.

“No shit. Ya think I just go up to people pretendin’ to be cold so I can cuddle with em?”

The avian chuckled, “I dunno, maybe you do?”

“I do not…” He mumbled, burying his face into the crook of Shed’s neck.

Shedletsky ran his hand up and down Builderman’s back in a soothing manner, and in combination with the warmth, he was actually able to fall asleep.
