"Rui! My dear friend! Want to have a fun day at Phoenix Wonderland with me?"
Tsukasa thought his plan was foolproof. Have a fun hour or so with Rui, and go on the ferris wheel to ask if he wanted to be his boyfriend. Just as the sun started to set for maximum romantic affect.
The perfect plan.
"I'd love to."
Rui was also planning on asking someone out. Tsukasa. The plan was simple, and made even simpler since Tsukasa asked to go to the Phoenix Wonderland first. Rui had a device in his ear, which he would speak into to give Nene the signal to activate the final phase of his plan.
If everything worked, he would come out of this dating Tsukasa.
The two entered the park, Rui resisting the very strong urge to grab Tsukasa's hand. "So, dearest Tsukasa. Want to get some cotton candy?"
"Yeah! Sounds amazing!"
Rui and Tsukasa walked over to the cotton candy stand.
Rui conveniently brought only enough money for one thing of cotton candy. "It appears we'll have to share."
"Fear not! I can pay on my own!" Tsukasa reached into his pocket, only to find his wallet missing. "...I left my money at home-"
A few feet away, Emu was watching, peeking from her spot behind a wall. Tsukasa's wallet was in her hands.
All according to Rui's plan.
"I don't mind sharing," Rui said as he held the cotton candy to Tsukasa. "I trust you to not steal it all."
Tsukasa grabbed a piece of the cotton candy, plopping it into his mouth. "What now? We need free activities to do."
"Emu and Nene said they're performing a show together, for practice. We could go see that."
"Wonderful idea, Rui!"
They went over to the Wonder Stage, where Emu and Nene were finishing setting up a backdrop.
"Rui! Tsukasa! We're about to start!" Emu called out, waving.
"I trust this will be an amazing show!" Tsukasa called back, as he sat down next to Rui, near the front. A few other people showed up.
The show was about a tragic romance between a princess and a knight from rivaling kingdoms.
During the end, Tsukasa's hand drifted towards Rui's.
Rui didn't pull away.
And, in classic Emu and Nene fashion, at the end, they kissed.
Tsukasa and Rui stood up for applause. "Well done! Amazing! Absolute cinema!"
Rui's hand found Tsukasa's once more. "The sun is starting to set. Want to go on the ferris wheel?"
"Absolutely!" Tsukasa was overjoyed. He was going to ask that, however, the fact he was holding Rui's hand made him forget all about that.
The line was almost completely empty. Rui and Tsukasa got onto one of the carts, and the ferris wheel began to move.
Eventually, they reached the top.
"Tsukasa. I have something to ask of you..."
The signal for Nene. She pressed a button from her location on the ground.
"Yeah?"
"Look out the window."
Fireworks lit up the sky in every color. They were in different shapes. Some even looked like giant stars.
"Woah..." Tsukasa was so amazing that he didn't realize Rui was so close, that their legs were touching.
The final fireworks were launched, spelling out a sentence.
"Will you be my boyfriend?" With a heart around it.
Tsukasa thought his heart would burst.
"Rui..."
Rui looked at Tsukasa with a fond smile. "You're the most lovely star in the sky. I love you. Dearly."
Tsukasa pulled Rui into a hug, just as the ferris wheel cart reached the ground. "I would love to. I love you. You're my favorite director."
"And you're my favorite actor."
