unpopular opinion but I think the sport would be better (and more popular!) without the r*vens… what makes people passionate about a sport is rooting for a team, wanting them to win, being sad when they lose etc but it’s simply not as fun when one team literally always wins. what’s even the point of a championship? i don’t even watch finals anymore

I hate to say it but trauma can drive people apart like when couples get divorced after losing a child, the news that his injury is more serious than they thought and that kevin won’t ever play again was probably really hard on all of them

I understand where you’re coming from but I doubt Riko would appreciate us calling his brother names like that. I’m sure this was a very hard decision on all sides and we should wish Kevin a swift recovery and hopefully he can rejoin the ravens one day. I know he would make an amazing coach!

i can’t say this isn’t shocking but i’m not mad about it! i’m really happy kevin will play again, but i guess he isn’t what he used to be, which makes sense considering he probably had to relearn how to play with his nondominant hand. the fact that he is playing at all is really amazing but he knows that he isn’t raven level anymore. this isn’t him betraying the ravens, it’s him RESPECTING them! #WeLoveYouKevin

I’ve had a couple months to organise my thoughts, and it helped me remember why i even created this account in the first place: because i wanted to support kevin day. not just because he is an amazing player, but an amazing person too

kevin is (was?) the moon to riko’s sun. riko’s shines brightly and always carries this air of arrogance that while deserved i still find kinda obnoxious, but not kevin. every time he talks about exy you can tell that this is more than just a game to him. this is his life, his way of connecting with his mother

he gets the game in a way that no one else does. riko is talent and aggression, he dominates his opponents and makes them submit, but when kevin plays… it’s something truly incredible to watch. it’s like no one else is even there, it’s just him his racquet and the ball. he is breathtaking

and he is always so charming and polite! and i adore how much he loves the trojans. what other player supports a rival team like that? and i know he is a truly wonderful human and it isn’t just a public persona because of how he acted when the trojans chose jeremy knox as captain

he did not share any “concerns” like many other players and coaches, he stood behind usc and knox 100%, talking multiple times about what a great player jeremy is and that he is sure he will make a great captain

but i admit i am having some trouble wrapping my head around the fact that he is transferring to palmetto state specifically. like, why not the trojans? if you’d asked me in december what my opinions on the foxes are, i would’ve said that i really admire what coach wymack is doing but that class 1 is not the place to do it

coach wymack is using his power and influence to remind people that sports are more than just chasing a ball around, it is community and a future. most people just laugh at them, but i watch every game and i can tell you: they are improving. little by little, but they are.

i don’t really have a manifesto HOWEVER!! despite everyone’s claims of inclusivity, the foxes are still the only class 1 team to be captained by a woman. lord knows how much hate she gets, so i support the foxes to show Dan Wilds and the other fox girls my appreciation (both in a feminist way and in a lesbian way because i contain multitudes)

I think I speak for every trojan fan when I say that the ravens behaviour following kevin’s transfer is NOT OKAY!! no one deserves to get death threats because of a game. The foxes and Kevin have my support!
