Work Text:

Neville Longbottom would never have thought he would be trapped in a snowstorm with Lady Sif from New Asgard. He noticed that she was pacing, like a panther, back and forth in their tight confinement.

Lady Sif was extremely worried about They say tomorrow never promised honest a song that Neville’s friend, Hermione Granger, introduced her to as she was curious about Midgard music. Shit, should have stayed with Valkyrie. But she insisted that I take this teaching position at Hogwarts. Neville is nice and all, and we are from two different worlds. It would never work out. She was berating herself when the power went out completely.

Neville lit up a lantern, then another one to light the room. “Well, we have pizza, Asgardian ale and lots of blankets to stay warm. We might as well hunker down for the night and keep each other company, if you want.” He was a bit concerned when Sif didn’t respond to him.

“Breathe, Neville, breathe,” he whispered to himself as he warmed up the pizza using his wand and passing a slice to Sif. “Thought you might be hungry.” Neville wanted to soothe her frayed nerves as he noticed how wild Lady Sif was starting to look, pacing fiercely.

“This storm is making me nervous, Neville. Can't you make it stop?” Lady Sif waved her hand towards the window and accepted the warm pepperoni, pineapple pizza. She sniffed it and tasted it and then devoured the whole thing.

Not knowing how tasty Midgardian food can be.

Neville was in awe. He thought Ron was the only one who could eat like that and quickly handed her another piece. “Don’t worry, I’ve got plenty. And no, I wish I could make this snowstorm stop. But from what I see on my iPhone, the storm will end in the morning. And I can keep us warm and comfortable with these warming blankets.”

Lady Sif watched the snow blow sideways as the ice crystals hit the window pane. “This reminds me of home. Loki would always cheer me up with snowflakes. I miss him,” she admitted to Neville, sitting down and placing her lance next to her, patting the empty space next to her. “I don’t bite, Neville; I'm just trying to get used to all of this.” She waved her hands around the room, seeing the wizarding portraits sleeping.

“Yeah, it's a bit much even for an Asgardian. Don’t worry, Minerva has another teacher from Asgard to join us as well. When the storm is over, we can Floo back home.” Neville suggested as he made themselves comfortable with the warming blankets, passing her a plate with food and beer.
Maybe it was the beer coursing through her veins; Lady Sif found Neville extremely attractive, and the warming blankets were keeping her nice and toasty. She leaned in and kissed Neville, who was waiting with bated breath. Snogging through the night, embracing each other, hearing the wind howling, knowing they were safe and warm.
