Chapter Text

Today was a day like any other. Annabel stretched before gracefully jumping down off the cat tree her owner bestowed her.

And as always, a maid had come in with a silver tray in hand carrying food for her. Gently setting the small sliver plate in front of her and left without a word.

Of course, she ate, but she wasn’t feeling particularly hungry at the moment. But what kind of lady would she be if she let it go to waste?

She waltzed with silent steps and hopped with such silent grace near the window and sat looking outward with those pink eyes of hers, seeing how the townsfolk buzzed with life, how the cars moved in rows.

Her ear twisted to the sound of footsteps to be more specific about her owners.

”Aha! There you are dearest here I thought you had hidden from me.”

He said, grabbing Annabel gently, carrying her as if she were glass in his arms.

“Come now, let us make haste because we have guests!”

’Of course father’

Of course, she knew he couldn’t understand her, but a respectable lady would always listen and reply to others.

Ira had a meeting with his associates, so as always, he had them bring their own felines to keep his Annabel company while he was away.

Annabel sat delinquently on a plush pillow her owner brought her by her side was her good friend Prospero… and Ada, who was desperately acting like Annabel to get Prospero’s attention and fumbling horribly, then left for the other room, not that she cared.

Then there was Montessori and Will doing who knows god what about being thieves again everywhere else?

No matter, at least Prospero was less deranged than the others…

“Annabel, are you quite alright? You barely have touched your milk..”

Her ear twitched slightly to the sound of Prospero’s voice. She let out an exhausted sigh before speaking.

”I’m quite alright. I was simply lost in thought, is that all?”

Prospero let out a hum, squinting his hazel eyes at Annabel, not believing Annabel's obvious lie but not pushing, the two of them sipped gently on their warm milk that was in sliver bowls. It was quiet and peaceful.

”PROSPERO~”

Ada, in a big puffy dress that her owner brought for her and trying to mimic how Annabel walks horribly with her chin up high with too much confidence in Prosperous' direction, then proceeded to trip face-first into Prosperous' bowl of milk.

Annabel had to cover her mouth with her paw to keep from letting out a giggle pretending to groom herself.

”Are you quite alright love?”

She had asked before being interrupted by Montessori and Will, who came running quickly carrying a rack of ribs, both of them carrying either side being chased by a maid. Will had tripped over Ada, making Ada let out a hiss.

”O-oh I'm really sorry really Im really- here I help...”

Will slowly walked up to Ada, who quickly swatted his face with another hiss.

”I don’t need your help, you idiot, you ruined my dress!”

”I—I’m sorry Ada.”

The rack of ribs and Montessori were sent flying onto the window curtain. He slid down the curtain, his claws ruining the fabric on the way. The ribs fell onto the windows with a splatter before sliding down onto the hardwood floor.

What a mess.

“O-OH MONTY ARE YOU ALRIGHT?!”

Will yelled quickly, walking to Montessori with obvious concern.

”Neva been Betta”

He said though he was clearly limping pathetically, that quiet peace was ruined. It made Annabel wonder why she ever even spent time with them. Really, no one forced her to do so.

”Jeez Monty, you're tough as… n-nails, huh?”

”Hmm, I couldn’t say anything better! Atta boy Will!”

Though nothing can be said for the maid who was saying the most outrageous things that Annabel would not repeat in her mind.

Just think of the most horrific thing to be said that ought to give you a good idea.

Everyone left and always was in place as always.

Annabel gazed out into the night sky out the large window, but she couldn’t help but feel empty. She had gotten anything she could want and need from her owner, who spent a good fortune on her. Any other cat would be jealous if only—

Out of the corner of her eye she saw a tall cat who was perched on the stone wall beside the window sill of her manor. A black and white fur pattern with the bluest pair of eyes she saw… they were almost like sapphire stones glistening in the light… then her eyes drifted onto the scar on their hip it piped her interest.

Quickly, Annabel looked around before opening the window and spoke out.

”It’s a nice night out, isn’t it?”

She said to the stranger whose ear twitched and immediately turned and looked up to face her, slowly backing away cautiously.

”Oh no, no, I mean no harm at all. I simply wanted to have a word with you I apologize if I have given you a fright.”

They stopped their blue eyes squinting slightly before speaking.

”Hm… How curious…. What is your name?”

Annabel hummed in thought before deciding whether to say her name or not.

”Won’t tell unless you say yours first.”

The tall cat nodded in agreement, smiling, slightly amused.

”Fair point… I'm Lenore. Now yours.”

”I’m Annabel Lee”

Lenore hummed, her blue eyes looking up and down at Annabel before responding back.

“What a lovely name for a lovely lady such as yourself…”

Right when Annabel was about to reply with some sly comment, her owner, Ira, scooped her up from the window sill.

”Get the bloody hell away from her, you stray! Before, I call pest control to make sure you're taken care of and to never return!

Lenore bowed down in fear before slowly backing away and scurrying off for her life.

He said, dropping Annabel Gently to the before shutting the window and closing the curtains.

“And Annabel… What did I tell you about the Window!?… I'm highly disappointed in you. I thought you knew better.”

Annabel’s ears went down as she looked up at Ira with that sad look in her pink eyes.

”No, I don’t want to look at you right now and I had better not see you by a window again!”

She scurried off though her mind was elsewhere… on a certain feline she had just met.

Notes:

So I feel like Lenore would be a maincoon due to the fact they can grow tall very quickly and she would have a tuxedo pattern

As for Annabel im not sure… but she will definitely have some sort of albinism because she has those pink eyes and her hair you could perhaps help me figure it out?
