Daniel, who was Czechia's representative in the Eurovision Song Contest, takes her by the hand. They are similar of age and this waltz was something to do with Vienna, Eva wasn't really listening.
They had interacted briefly at the pre-parties, but it was only polite "hellos" and she thought nothing of it.
The semi final was either going to break her heart or bring joy to it, but before they got their results, there was a brief waltz.
Daniel was so graceful in his movements.
It made her chest tighten as she locked eyes with Daniel, trying to hide a smitten smile.
She darted her eyes towards his dark curly hair, it reminded her of someone familiar.
Someone from the Luxembourg National Finals, the night where she got her ticket to the Eurovision Song Contest.
Gjon's Tears.
He was Swiss and was apart of the Swiss Jury last year, he knew Laura, Luxembourg's representative of last year who showed up to perform her newest song.
Eva and Gjon got the chatting and they had quite a bit in common. He was so lovely, it made her heart flutter and her body tingle.
When she won the national finals, she and Gjon celebrated with some drinks at a club.
There was a lot of fun, but hiding her crush on him while a bit tipsy was hard, because the more they danced, the more she wanted to confess. They had only known each other for a short while but Eva had fallen head over heels for him.
Finally, they kissed. It was short, discreet and slightly regretful from her end, but she loved it. Shortly after, they left the club and Eva took Gjon to her home to stay for the night.
But with that, all of their pent up passion unravelled.
They had sex.
She didn't remember much of it, but it was the most fun she had had for a long time. He was such a gentle person to get into bed with and Eva longed for his gentle touch more, but it wasn't to be, as when she woke up tomorrow morning, Gjon had left.
It was disappointing, but life went like that sometimes. Yes, Gjon had social media but Eva wasn't sure on whether to pursue a relationship from just one night stand, and a friendship would've been awkward in her opinion. She felt that it was best to leave it for now.
She was instantly snapped out of her thoughts once she mentally registered Daniel's soft touch. It reminded her of Gjon, his gorgeous touch was rather soft as well.
As they waltzed, she became captivated by Daniel. His warm smile, gentle hands and graceful movements.
She wanted to kiss him, but did he have the same feelings as her?
Could this just be a simple dance to him? Something he'll just shrug off after the semi finals? She examined the other artists around the room and they looked like they were in that position.
But she was falling in love with Daniel in such a sort timespan. She needed to tell him those feelings.
He was so cute.
There was an adorable grin on his face as he brought Eva close. Was he happy to be doing this or did he also have feelings for her? Eva wasn't going to play detective, but if that was the case then it'll save her a lot of worrying.
They gazed into each others eyes for a moment, lost on what was happening around them until the music stopped.
It all happened so slowly but she looked at her watch and only one minute had passed.
Daniel looked down at her, quietly whispering, "You were great at this."
Eva blushed, her heart rapidly beating, "Thank you."
Her stomach churns as Daniel shakily stammered under his breath, blushing as well before awkwardly looking at his shoes, "I think you look pretty under these lights."
If there wasn't the presence of the cameras, she would kiss him right then and there, but only gave him a quick nod and touch on the hand before looking away. By the time she looked back to where Daniel was, he had been whisked away by his manager.
She hoped he got the message.
That he looked pretty under those lights too.
