Work Text:
The 101 was one of the most famed pirate vessels. The crew was reported to only be the descendants of pirates of yore, and they frequently defeated naval vessels in combat.
Her Captain was the feared Overseer, known only by this name, a title passed down through generations.
Currently, the dread Captain of the 101, terror of the high seas, Captain of blood and destruction, was crying in her bedroom.
The Overseer, known as Amata by her crew, was a young woman, 20, having recently inherited the role upon the resignation of her Father, the previous Overseer. There had been mutiny during his time reigning over the high seas, a tragedy that spiralled from the loss of Amata’s own lover, and led to the ship herself almost being split in twain.
Lidia, the lost pirate was called. Amata had loved her, and every day her heart split, knowing she never spoke her truth. Lidia was long gone, having traded piracy for a life as a land Doctor. It wasn’t the life she chose.
Amata felt her stomach clench, and bile rise in her throat. She had forced Lidia to leave. Followed her Father’s example and banned anyone who posed a threat to the legacy of the 101. He had attempted to murder her. Amata had saved her, smuggled her onto a small vessel to safety, with mention of a ship called the Megaton who traded in those waters.
After Lidia’s escape, a flight after that of her Father, and that caused the death of the ship’s own Doctor, Jonas, the mutiny had begun. The youth of the ship, and those educated, had enough with the cruelty of Amata’s Father, and she had sided with them. They had barricaded the lower decks, and Amata had sent a pigeon, a desperate plea for Lidia.
Lidia came. She rode in on the Star, a small vessel with the crew of herself, an older lady with sunkissed dark skin and silver hair, and a young man who stood at nearly 7 feet. She saved them all. And Amata exiled her.
Lidia wasn’t of the 101. She was a threat.
Amata was the worst Captain a ship could hope for. Her first deed was to exile their saviour, their hero. Her lover.
She couldn’t imagine there being an Overseer after her.
