Work Text:
Isolating the sun god from their traveling companions wasn't too hard but pathetically easy. While those who visited Sumeru's city must wear the akasha system to be identified and have access to a rather limited network they had refused. And their refusal left them without access to the inner city leaving them to wander while their friends attempted to contact the lesser lord.
They do not flee nor shout when Dottore approaches but simply sit there humming with their feet dangling from the bridge above the waters edge watching the ripples of the moon reflected in the river water. It reminds him a bit of the moon goddess he knows how little regard they have for the world around them while they're lost in song.
It's something he recognizes from the recordings his intelligence he's gathered up to this point. Their song sounds much better in person untainted by the static of the recorders his more disposable agents had to use.
Dottore stands beside them on that bridge and they do not move only look up at him curiously. They pause tilting their head and his lips quirk up.
"Recognize me do you? You should unless you have lost far more than just your original strength." He leans down like a crow ready to nip at the feathers of a bird that know could take their life but can't help itself to mess with them any ways.
He freezes when their left hand rises near the left side of his face. The heat is unbearable and they could very well eliminate this segment of himself but he does not move waiting for their next move. With a flick of their finger his earring rocks back and forth. A couple seconds pass until it stills only for them to flick it once more a light smile on their face.
What a strange god. Are they unaware of the danger they could be in or do they simply believe themselves above it? With just a push he could snuff out their light in an instant, this world does not need them, it hasn't needed them with the replacement in the sky.
He let's them continue to play mind racing skin absorbing their heat until it reddens. Dottore stands and they pout that he's taken their amusement and leaves without a word. He holds a hand up to his cheek. What a strange feeling.
