Chapter Text
Leonardo adopted you a few years ago. He's been an amazing dad, he'd give you the world if he could. Or, you were pretty sure that's how he felt. You weren't so sure now…
Cassandra died recently. She was always very kind to you, so you decided to plan a small ceremony to honor her so Casey Jr wouldn't have to. Many had mentioned how it was a good thing too, she had been a powerful warrior for the resistance.
During the ceremony, your father had spent most of it with Casey, and you understood. The kid was close in age to you, he was like a brother. And he needed support.
But it's been a few weeks, and your dad hasn't been talking to you much. You can't actually think of a time you had a full conversation with him.
He's been spending more and more time with Casey, he's started sitting next to you dad…where you normally sit. You didn't like change much, you struggled to adapt. But you started sitting next to your Uncle Mikey and Donnie, Raph sat on the other end of the table.
It was another one of those mornings in the cafeteria. It was loud, every recruit was getting breakfast. You took a seat next to Donatello.
You hadn't slept well last night. Your nightmares had started again, maybe it was just the stress of change? You hoped it'd pass soon. Thankfully no one woke up to you screaming. But it was weird, dad used to come since your room is across from his.
“Those eyebags could soon be used for groceries, kid.” Donatello comments. It was his silent way of checking in.
“I'm good, just stayed up late on accident.” •You say•
“You sure, Pumpkin?” Raph asks, sitting across from you. You nod, taking a sip from your coffee cup.
“Since when did you start drinking coffee?” Mikey plops down next to you, always a ball of energy. You shrug slightly.
Your uncles have a silent conversation between themselves, occasionally glancing at Leo.
“You uh…gonna have anything more than coffee, kiddo?” Raph asks, you force a smile.
“I'm not all that hungry right now.” You say simply. He nods slightly, his mask furrowed where eyebrows would be.
You and your uncles chat for a little while as they finish their breakfast. You occasionally cast glances at your father only to be disappointed as he still doesn't notice you.
“Well, I ought to head to the lab. I'll see you all around.” Donatello says, pushing himself up.
“Bye, Dee.” Michelangelo says
“See you, Uncle Tello.” You mutter, Raph grunts and does a half wave because he has food in his mouth.
You nurse the coffee for a little while.
“I think I have patrol today. I'm gonna go check the schedule.” You eventually say as you get up.
“Be careful if you do.” Raph says, both him and Mikey glance up as you get up.
—--------
You leave the cafeteria and head to the mission debrief room. It also happened to have patrol schedules and lists of stuff that needed to get done.
You look at the patrol schedule, sure enough, you're on it. But you normally had it with someone else since you were still on the younger end of things, but you were alone for this one. You hope nothing goes wrong.
—-----
The doors to exit the base open and you step out, now in full gear. You probably should have mentioned to Leonardo that no one else was scheduled with you. But your father was busy…with another kid…maybe he just got bored of you.
You're too lost in thought to notice the krang drones approaching you. There's a sharp pain in your back, blood trickles down.
“Gah!” You stumble forward, turning around quickly with two blades drawn.
“You're the one boss asked for… perfect.” There's another sharp pain, your vision goes black.
—----
Your entire body hurts when you wake up, it’s bright, and cold, but your body feels oddly feverish.
“So little B48 is awake.” A voice echoes through, your blood runs cold. Krang. All Krang labor camp survivors had one of two letters in front of the number, the number was what year you were brought into the labor camp. You either had a B, which stood for born there. Or F, found and then sent to the camp. These sequences got carved into your skin like you were cattle. You force your eyes to open fully.
There’s a krang right in front of you. Not one of the main three of course, no one would survive that. But this was still horrifying. Can't panic, that'll make it worse. You look around as much as you can.
Emergency button! Donatello made everyone wear emergency buttons for patrols and missions. If you tap it, the base will be alerted of your location and that you need help.
You strain against the restraints, trying to push the button against the chair with your wrist.
[DONNIE ALERT]
[LOCATION SENT]
[DONNIE ALERT]
[LOCATION SENT]
Shit. That was way too loud. The krang look in your direction.
“Well, Well, Well. Calling for help? Guess we'll have to do this quicker than.” Shit.
“We know you were taken in by that blue turtle after they broke into one of our camps. Those turtles have been quite pesky, we figured you’d know the most on how to beat them.” It moves closer to you, holding a needle in its tentacle.
“We can do this the easy way, or the hard way.” It says.
“You’re not getting shit out of me.” You say, holding your ground despite being scared shitless.
“So the hard way then.” It tuts, stabbing your leg with the needle.
Pain, blinding pain. It shoots up through your veins immediately. You scream, body straining against the restraints.
“Still not gonna tell us?” The krang taunts, it feels like background noise. You’re gasping for air at this point.
“Fuck off.” You bite out, sweat beading on your forehead.
—-----------------
“Leo, Y/N sent a distress signal!" Donnie comes running around a corner. Leo’s head snaps up, Raph and Mikey are already trailing Donnie.
“Shit, let's go.” Leo says, already ready.
—--------------
“Donnie, what are their vitals?” Leonardo asks from the front. They had tank-like jeeps for things such as this.
“Elevated, something’s causing unnatural stimuli, may cause permanent damage if it goes on for too long.” Donatello answers, watching the live play of your vitals and what the camera in your emergency button can see.
“They appear to have been injected with something…something painful.” He adds. Leo grits his teeth but keeps driving.
“Do you wish for me to turn their microphone on so we can hear what’s going on?” Donnie asks.
“Yes.” Leonardo answers, feeling horrible for neglecting both you and the fact that you had patrol by yourself.
All they can hear from your microphone is barely muffled screams and the occasional taunt from the krang.
—-------------
“It could all just stop if you told us how to get to them. What they’re afraid of, what they’re weak to, what your father’s plans are.” The krang offers. Leo’s blood runs cold. They wanted you, because of him.
“I’d rather die.” You grit out, body writhing against the restraints. The pain was blinding, you felt as if you were going to pass out.
It hurts Leo to hear you say it. You’ve gone over this in training. Don’t antagonize the krang further, but never give away information, even if it kills you. But it’s different now, he might never see you again. And both of you know that, yet you still aren’t pleading for your life. He almost wishes that you would.
“That’ll come soon enough.” The krang says with a grin. You have so much you want to say, but you want a chance to live.
“You’re oddly talkative for someone who just had our serum injected. The last subject only lasted four minutes before seizing.” it comments.
“I’m not B48 for no reason.” You mutter through half lidded eyes. Your uncles and father listen in horror as they rush to get you.
“I suppose you’re right.” The krang comments, moving towards a table and grabbing something.
“Guess you’re the perfect one to try another test on, hm?” it suggests, but you know you don’t have a choice. It injects you with something else and you let out another scream as the pain intensifies. Leo’s heart clenches and your uncles share a panicked look.
You’re left screaming from the pain, your vision is blurry and your limp, sweating, and breathing heavily in the restraints.
—-------------
Your voice is just about gone from screaming by the time there’s any commotion. You hope it’s someone coming to save you.
You’re nearly unconscious, a hand touches you, and you don’t even react.
“Don! They’re not responding!” Uncle Raph? Don would be Uncle Tello then.
“Hey, hey, little circuit. Can you hear me?” Your eyes flutter. You try to say something, but it’s just hoarse gibberish.
“Hey, I’m gonna give you something for the pain. You gotta trust me though.” He says. Your eyes flutter shut again as something new is injected into your thigh.
—-------------
It’s bright, but warmer than last time. You blink blearily. Your body feels sore.
“Sweetheart, you awake?” Your father asks. You shift your head to look at him. His hand is over your’s. Your wrists are bandaged and you’re hooked up to a few machines. Your throat hurts so you nod.
“Morning, little circuit.” Donatello comments from behind you. It looks like he had been checking your vitals. You attempt to smile, still exhausted.
“Don, could I talk to them…alone?” Leo asks his twin. Donnie looks over, but nods and heads towards the exit.
“I’m sorry, sweetie. It was my fault that you went on patrol by yourself. I shouldn’t have been so distant.” He apologies. You tear up. He gently pulls you into a hug, being careful of the wires.
“I promise I’ll make it up to you.” He murmurs.
It’s not fixed. You’re not okay, not by a long shot. But maybe it’ll be okay eventually.
