Work Text:

Colson watched from the sideline as Dom greeted fans. It was his show after all, Kells was just a guest.

He liked watching Dom interact with the people. He was always so genuinely happy to meet them all. It made him happy to see Dom happy.

He leaned forward slightly, noticing a small kid getting nudged out on the way by some bigger people. He was considering going over there, or calling out to Dom to point the kid out.

But Dom was already on it. He should have known. Dominic Harrison never ignored someone, especially not a kid. He crouched down and lifted the kid up, the little guy squealing in excitement as he was raised in the air. Dom hled the kid in his arms, talking to him. Asking his name, the usual stuff. Telling him what a cool kid he was, complimenting his boots.

Colson watched him, his heart aching in a bittersweet way. Tears stung at his eyes, forcing him to blink them back. It was so sweet, how gentle and kind he was to the young fans. To everyone really. That was just Dom. He had such a good heart, some days Colson felt like he didn't deserve him. Not with his broken, stitched up heart.

Dominic, who would stop entire shows to wipe a stranger's tears.

He wished more people would see past his partner's artist persona, YUNGBLUD, the bad boy rockstar, and appreciate the other side of him. Dominic Harrison, the kindest person he knew. Someone who practically saved him in 2020, whe things were getting bad again. The man who stayed up all night with him on the phone when he couldn't be there to hold him.

Fuck I'm really gonna cry now. He looked up at the ceiling, then down, taking a slow breath in. Not the place for tears. He repeated in his mind.

"Dom," He said, relieved to see him once he came back to their dressing rooms. His voice broke a little.

"Colson, love." Dominic said in the gentlest, most caring voice.

That's what pushed Colson over the edge. Tears spilled over the edge of his eyes, and he tried to wipe them off with his sleeve but more just kept coming.

Dom pulled him into his arms, stroking his hair.

"What's wrong, love?" He asked softly, cooing comforting words into his ear.

"I just… I…" Colson wiped his face off again, trying to compose himself.

"It's just I love you so much." He got out, before burying his face back in Dom's chest. Dominic sat on the couch arm, holding his head and petting his hair.

"Shh it's alright baby, I love you too." He took his face in both hands, wiping his tears off. "I love you so so much." He said fiercely, kissing Colson's forehead.

For some reason, some sappy sentimental reason, Colson leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Dom's chest. Right over his heart. His pure, good heart.
