Work Text:
For once, this was something Mulani was used to. She held the rod expertly, and plunged it in the water with precision, her lure glistening for a brief time before hitting the water.
First, the waiting. I might be long if no fish was ready to come. Today was lucky though, and she felt a pull on her line almost immediately. Second, the gripping. Her grasp tightened around the rod, and she pulled repetitively on it… only to find it empty. Again.
- Why are fishes so hard to catch here ?!
She glared at her empty bucket, until Kokomi started to laugh next to her, with a bucket almost full.
- Maybe it's because the fishes aren't the same ? I struggled a bit in Natlan too. Here, take some of mine !
Mualani was almost offended by the offer, and begrudgingly accepted, mumbling about wanting to catch her own.
- Don't worry love, I'm sure you will. I trust you, and we have a whole week ahead of us.
Kokomi's lips pressed on her girlfriend's cheeks, almost giggling, as the latter pressed her head into the crook of Kokomi's neck. The pout on her lips didn't disappear, but it got smaller.
- Let's try again !
