Summary
Minho moved from Korea to Monterey in Northern California during Middle school to gain a better chance at a future. He moves in with his grandma and grandpa that welcome him with open arms. While living there, he grows closer to his cousin Yongbok and Yongbok's friend Jisung. It was a drastic change from what he was used to but he didn't mind. After four months of living there and talking about his girlfriend back home under the palm tree he and Yongbok use on sleepless nights Yongbok gives him the awakening that he is being groomed. He doesn't accept it and refuses to acknowledge it. Knowing he couldn't help, Yongbok brings Jisung around a lot more hoping Minho could see he is falling for Jisung. Since it’s such a taboo thing in Korea he automatically assumes its just the big brother urge he is getting when around Jisung, but it isn’t until later that he realizes it’s actually love and he had so much internalized homophobia.
