Expands more on those experiments Xornoth mentioned in the strange dreams.
Shrub Berry has seen a month-long blood moon before when she was sixteen. They only happen once a hundred years, and during that month at night mobs would be stronger and prowl around more.
Now Shrub's a hundred and sixteen and she's seeing the month long blood moon again.
But Xornoth is here too.
Pearl usually likes blood moons. Her last name was Moon, for one thing, and in the culture of Gilded Helianthia it represents the harvest and good crops.
But in this month-long blood moon Xornoth does something with blood magic and now Pearl's constantly being possessed by a version of her in a past life calling herself Scarlet Pearl. She also has a ghost dog named Tilly and is very obsessed with Scott for some reason.
Xornoth loves causing chaos and these new empires were perfect for experimentation. Why did he turn Shrub into a werewolf and fWhip into a vampire and make Scarlet Pearl possess Farmer Queen Pearl? Because why not?
Sausage just wanted to help, to turn his best friend back to human and exorcise his other best friend.
But he didn't know using blood magic under the month long blood moon had detrimental effects on someone who was new to casting spells.
