Chapter Text
Avid rubbed at the back of his neck as he paced the attic of the Merp Manor, thinking hard about what just happened.
He asked Shelby to turn him. So why was he suddenly regretting it?
Right. Because now, he couldn't stop thinking about Scott.
I mean, he had felt a pull to Scott before, but now.
Now it was trying to drag him right to Scott.
He wondered if Scott had done something with his vampiric abilities to him to make him feel a small pull before.
But now it was everything he wanted to do.
And he hated himself for it.
Why couldn't he just..stop?
But what if, what if he went to see scott? What if he could keep his eyes on Scott. And Make sure no one was taking his si-
"No! Avid stop thinking like that!" Avid said outloud to himself and stopped himself from Pacing. Maybe he was just hunrgy, he just needed to feed. But he didn't want to do that either.
"Avid! Are you ok?" Drift called from downstairs.
"Oh! Hehe! I'm fine Drift!!" He said, his voice shaky and clearly a lie.
"Liar, I'm coming up." Drift said, and Avid heard footsteps climbing up the stairs. He sighed as she came up the stairs, he didn't want to face her yet. He didn't want to tell her that he was a vampire. He just wanted to have his sickness go away when he was turned and then turn back. But now he had another reason to turn back. He didn't want to be obsessed with Scott. Scott was everything he despised as a hunter. Or well, Elle was the hunter, not him. But Scott always referred to him as 'hunter' whenever they run into eachother.
"Hello Hunter," Scott purred from somewhere above Avid, in the trees.
"Scott?!" He asked, though they knew it was Scott. It was either him, Pyro or Owen. And Owen would've attacked him by now. Pyro would be with Scott. Is Pyro here with Scott?
"Yes Hunter, it's me." Scott replied as he dropped down behind Avid
"Leave me alone, You..You..!!" Avid screamed as Scott dropped down behind him out of fear. He stumbled back enough to catch Scott's amused grin before he started to run again.
"You're no fun, Hunter." Scott purred in his place. He didn't chase Avid. No, he let him run all the way back to town. Inside the walls of that Stupid town.
Avid hated now even more that Scott called him 'hunter.' It wasn't a suiting title for him. Elle was the hunter, not him. He was just a help with research sometimes. He wasn't at all much of a help to Elle. And now, He's become the very thing he's despised all his life. What would Elle think of him?
"Uhh, Avid..? Avidddddd?" Drift called out to Avid, waving her hand in front of his face.
"Oh- Um sorry..I guess I zoned out." Avid said in answer to Drift. He rubbed his eyes, forcing himself to focus on Drift.
"I asked if you were ok." Drift repeats, her voice is concerned but if that wasn't enough, her brows were furrowed in concern too.
"I'm okay, just thinking about.." Avid cuts himself off as his mind comes back to why Drift even asked. Because Avid said outloud to himself to stop thinking about Him. His eyes filling with a look of giddiness as he started thinking about Scott again. And then Drift snapped her fingers in front of Avid's face, catching back his attention.
"Crap, I'm sorry." He says as he rubs his eyes, and then opening them and focusing his attention back to the concerned and annoyed looking Drift in front of him.
"I'm okay, I was just thinking about what happened with the town members when we were all talking to Scott." Avid lies smoothly. Though, it was more of a half truth. He was thinking about Scott but he was thinking about every interaction he's ever had with Scott. Not just that one.
"Alright, if you say you're fine. I'm going out to get more wood. I'll be back soon Avid." Drift said, her face still showed concern but she was Avid's best friend. She knows that he probably needs space.
"Ok, I might go out after you later." He called out as Drift walked down the stairs. And then she was gone, Avid left to himself.
But being alone, is a distaster for flegdlings who had just turned.
Speaking for him turning, He probably would've gotten shelby in trouble if he hadn't immediately felt off and the need to run. Good for him though, he could sense someone else got turned right after him and whoever was looking for him got turned around in the mess of senses.
And what he didn't expect was, the second he stepped out of his house, to catch an elder vampire to be smiling down at him from the top of the walls of the town.
"Care for a chat, hunter?" The elder vampire asked him. His voice melodic to the young flegdling. But Avid had to shake off his new found obsessiveness of the elder vampire if he wanted to get anywhere.
"Do I have a choice?" Avid asked sarcastically. Part of him wanted nothing more than to jump at the elder vampire and demand answers for his obsessive feelings. But maybe, if he talked with Scott. Scott would give him the answers he wanted.
"Oh hunter, you always have a choice. But if you don't chat with me now, you'll have to chat with all of the vampires later." Scott said, his voice more leveled now rather than the constant teasing purr that Scott normally had to his voice when talking to Avid.
"Fine. But where are we going, the town won't be this empty for long." Avid said, his hand coming up the back his, now covered and re bandaged, neck to rub it. But because of his new vampirism, the scratch is healing now. It stings a lot and he had to bite his lip as to not wince when he bandaged it earlier. He often rubbed the back of his neck when he was nervous, anixous or scared. And right now, he was all of those things.
He was scared of the vampire above him.
Scared to be caught by the vampire coven or the towns people.
He was anxious that he could be kicked out of town.
Anxious that Scott might know he's a vampire now.
And he was nervous to be near Scott because his mind is running faster and faster about the elder vampire.
Nervous that he could feel another presence near him that wasn't him or Scott.
"We're going to the cyrpt to talk." Scott said, giving the ex-hunter a grin.
