Summary
Ichiro does not wake up the next morning, because he doesn’t fall asleep in the first place. Instead, he’s startled into awareness by the chirping of birds and the unmistakable sound of Saburo’s attempts at keeping quiet. Ichiro wonders if he’s entered a parallel timeline, one where his youngest brother wakes up before him and his best friend confesses his love without him realizing. If so, he’d like to return to his own timeline now, please and thank you. Teenagers should be begging for five more minutes of sleep and best friends-turned-rivals-turned-best-friends-again should not be confessing their love at all.
