   Summary

   Ellena has been married to Prince Maekar Targaryen, not out of love, but as an alliance between the North and the South. She quickly finds that her second husband is gruff and avoidant, her stepchildren children to be wild and uncontrollable, and the south to be unkind and judgemental.

   After the death of Rhaegal Targaryen and his son Aelor, Maekar is made heir to the throne and Prince of Dragonstone.
