what a horrific sight.

.
Of course, no one knew what would become of Gon.
Death?
An infinite coma that a doctor constantly reassured would be finite?
It was obvious, he didn’t care in the moment; suddenly his vision and world being fascinated with the concept of revenge, it’s sweet and sinister fangs delighting in a new victim.
One could assume he’d died, one other could assume that their brutal end meant a safe haven for their idolized, not knowing of the thorns on a rose’s sharpness, enough to plan out a way to keep the world safe from their species fake and uncanny resemblance to those lesser beings who’d they sworn to dominate.
-
Gon didn’t.
He lived.
-
A doctor never set eyes on his old friend, black spiky hair that defied basic gravity and a boundless nature of bubbliness. Said nature was like a forest you swear you know how to traverse, yet the tree you swear you’ve seen 300 times isn’t actually the same tree and every turn surprises you with everything it gives you. Such endless curiosity and kindness, it's the forests heart after all, his motivations and will, strength and intention; as well as it’s cherished friends creating what it is now and what keeps it alive.
But there’s some things you didn’t know that he could make himself believe or do, nor did he know himself of such things..
The forest is burning.
With this specific friend, people are definitely scared of him, I mean, he is a Zoldyck after all; how could kind and positive him be friends with a Zoldyck.. and his sibling?
Two siblings with such different impressions of him, during restoration, after seperation, before in Greed Island—one with, one only hearing about him from angry family members wanting her big brother back— before in Yorknew—one with, one only hearing about him from an angry Milluki and.. just other family members, she’s tired and wants to go to sleep right now, classic Alluka. Oh of course, in the Hunter Exam—one with, one only hearing about her big brother stabbing Milluki and slashing their mother in the face and not knowing the rest, save for a while later, she’ll (they’ll) know why and what led to it all.
-
Whatever, that's now in the past, it doesn’t matter.
-
What matters is getting the hell away from ‘Crazy Needle Freaks,’ Tech nerds, whatever Kalluto and Mother were, and of course, Father and Grandfather.. Gon is fine, Nanika saved him, there's no need to stay up having nightmares about that monster, who you swore worn your friends—
No, not friend, that's too little for him, you can’t, of course, think of another word—Get on with your own thoughts damnit!
—Who you swore worn his face just moments ago when you saw him last, of course, that mask was slipping, revealing that forest’s burning, revealing the hate that replaced kindness in the forests heart, revealing a staggering and dangerous motivation, solely to destroy it—Pitou.. Neferpitou. Yet, it seemed more scary to be the audience to a massacre instead of its victim, afterall you were just as angry—or at least you thought until whatever amount of time has passed—about Kite’s death and puppetry; and now you see something with Gon’s everything allowing its own forest to burn. You didn’t know it was burning. It still is.
It was.. Indescribable horror, not necessarily like being subject to yet another method of madness back home, but.. just everything being gone, him giving up everything to submit to revenge’s cold, horrifying power. There’d be nothing like it, not ever, not even with a sudden promise of his life being restored. Was Killua nothing, or was he not worth living for? Was Pitou worth his destruction, or was Kite’s death worth that magnitude of vengeance? No, Killua knew Gon cared about him, but was this just, worth more than him? Of course, it’s his only personal connection to Ging, he can’t be selfish and depressed over his friend choosing kite.
But so was Gon, wasn’t he?
Not recognizing his possession of Killua’s heart, not recognizing the fact he had so much, and how he disregarded his friends pedestal under his feet and how much he was cared for and how he would kill and die and live for him.
-
No matter, he can just.. go visit!
NO, he can’t.
He could’ve helped, and saved his frie- Gon, but he didn’t, just stared at whatever that monster was that he knew, was Gon somehow.
Killua didn't know anymore, he just wanted his favorite forest to come back. Where to start?
