Chapter Text

The mystery box sent by Herta was getting you, March, and Stelle all excited. Once you had all gathered around, you all decided to give Stelle the honor of opening it, since she did the most work with Herta.

Upon opening the box, Stelle revealed the surprise inside to the other two of you. Inside were two of Ruan Mei's cat cake creations. Herta must’ve been feeling really nice because the mystery box not only included a March inspired cat cake, but also one inspired by you. Naturally, with Stelle being the one to nurture the creatures, there was bound to be one based on each of you. She had shown you the one that looked like March before but she had never shown you the one that looked like you. Presumably she had wanted to keep it a surprise for you to see in person.

Stelle’s Trash Cake had already been in her room for quite some time and she had named it that all by herself. Presumably because your silly girlfriend was so obsessed with dumpster diving. Well and also cause it kinda looked like a metal trash can. But she hadn’t come up with names for the two cat cakes inspired by the two of you. March immediately named hers Ice Cake. Probably because it followed the same naming scheme as Trash Cake. But you were just sitting there on one of the couches of the Party Car trying to come up with a good name for your cat cake.

As you sit there holding the creation in your arms, you feel someone sit next to you. And once you feel her hair slowly press up against your neck and shoulder you know for sure that it's Stelle.

You hear her soft voice carry into your ear, as if she’s trying not to disturb the new cat cake in your arms, “You thinking about something Fifi?”

You look at Stelle briefly then back at the creature, “I can’t decide what I want to name it.”

“Well how would you describe it?” she asks.

You feel the cat cake in your arms and one word comes to mind, “Fluffy.”

“Then let’s call it Fluffy Firefly.”

“What, are you trying to say I’m not not fluffy?” You feign a pout as you say this. Though the phony frown doesn’t stay for long as she pulls you in.

“I don’t know if I’d describe you as fluffy, but you’re definitely very adorable and fun to hold regardless.”

After sitting there basking in the warmth of your girlfriend and Fluffy Firefly for a moment, you suddenly hear March speak up, “Wait, we should go get Trash Cake from upstairs and see if those two like each other as much as you two do.”

Before either of you can say anything in response, March had already set down Ice Cake on the counter and started rushing up the stairs to go retrieve Trash Cake from Stelle’s room. Well really it probably should be considered you and Stelle’s room with how much you stay over these days, but to you it's still just Stelle’s room. Regardless, March going up to get the cat cake without waiting for you guys gives you just a bit more time to enjoy your current situation piled beneath Stelle and your new pet.

Sure enough, just moments later March emerges from the depths of Stelle’s chamber upstairs with another cat cake in hand. As she approaches you two, still sitting in the same position you were in when she left, she just stands there holding Trash Cake silently. You think she is just as curious as you are about how Trash Cake will react to your new pet without any prompting.

Normally, Trash Cake gets standoffish with new people around. You remember Stelle telling you about how Trash Cake reacted seeing Stelle come back with another pet, her trotter Bubbles. Apparently Trash Cake didn’t acknowledge the trotter’s existence for a whole week before Stelle finally convinced it to be nice. A similar thing happened with Sunday when he arrived on the Express, though he didn’t really seem to care about what the cat cake thought of him. And since he rarely entered Stelle’s room and Trash Cake rarely left it, they didn’t really interact all that much.

However, after sitting there for a moment and thinking, Trash Cake leaped out of March’s hands and landed softly on top of Fluffy Firefly’s head. After sitting there for a moment, it started to purr softly seemingly content with its new friend. Looks like Trash Cake and Fluffy Firefly were as fast of friends as you and Stelle were. You’re glad you didn’t have to try and convince Trash Cake to be friendly with your new pet.

As you continue to calmly sit there thinking, you hear your girlfriend starting to try and copy Trash Cake’s purring. Surprisingly, it does a good job of relaxing you even more. As you start to feel yourself fade away, you notice March walking off holding Ice Cake in her hands. Presumably having realized the four of you weren’t moving any time soon, she decided to leave and give you all some space. You are happy situated where you are and just want to stay there for a while.
