Summary
Alphas rule everything. Jimin was raised on his halmeoni’s stories, stories of how her own omega father had escaped with her, running as far and fast as he could so his daughter would never know the subjugation he had. She had remembered enough, though, enough to warn her daughter and then the grandson she raised when Jimin’s eomma passed. Alphas are violent, aggressive. They bite and claim and ruin everything they touch. The omegas in the cities have no freedoms, no rights. They’re locked away by alphas who care not for their whims or wishes.
This is why Jimin’s village has no alphas, only omegas and betas. This is why they stay far away, where the alpha authorities can’t catch them. There’s a team that makes periodic trips for supplies, medicines and clothes they can’t make themselves, but they otherwise keep to their corner of the dense forests and carry each other through life.
