Chapter Text
The crying never stopped!
Jafar; once the Royal Vizier of Agrabah, a genie beyond other genies, and a scheming snake who paved his own way to being sultan, was now reduced to covering his ears because of a child’s obnoxious wales.
The child in question seemed to have the lungs of a rock hyrax.
If Jafar had it his way he wouldn’t have had this child but well he needed him for something.
The mother wasn’t someone that Jafar particularly cared for, she was beautiful but Jafar didn’t care for her looks, he only cared for what she can get for him.
She was a strong willed woman, which is what he needed but her will wasn’t like how Jasmine’s is.
Thinking of Jasmine made Jafar’s blood boil. The brat she was, what would she know of hard work? Everything she had was handed to her and yet she still insisted her life was unfair!
What’s worse is Iago’s betrayal, that stupid bird joined up with the princess and Jafar wanted nothing more than revenge but that is impossible as long as he was stuck on the isle.
Even if he managed to escape there was still a problem he had.
The street rat’s little trick.
Jafar paced around his little cottage, the one place he managed to get as more and more villains were carted away to rot in a place that those heroes never have to think of.
Pathetic really.
Jafar was trying to locate where that blasted lamp was.
That prison!
Wasn’t that funny, how he traded one prison for another.
Now thanks to the barrier around the island, there was no magic just relics of a time long past.
A time of power and glory.
Or so those dimwitted heroes think.
What none of them realize is that there was magic everywhere, from the ground that carried the soil of fallen kingdoms to the sky where thunderous villains shined brightly, magic can’t be gotten rid of that easily.
Many of his fellow villains weren’t aware of that but Jafar was a sorcerer turned genie, if there was one thing he did know, it was magic.
And that little bit of magic might not he enough to free him from the prison he was forced to, it will be enough for what he has planned.
If that stupid child stops wailing!
Jafar can barely hear himself think, let alone locate his private prison in the prison. The ex-vazier can feel the cuffs on his arms chafing, almost like they were getting tighter as they reminded Jafar of what he turned himself into.
And the screams of a child was another prison really.
After what felt like hours he finally found where his lamp was located, behind stacks of books.
He remembers now, he hid his lamp there so that no one can take it, there had been a number of street rats lately, trying to take anything valuable.
Jafar smirks as he takes the lamp and places on the take next to his wailing son.
This plan was perfect, he knows it is.
Jafar takes a piece of chalk, something he found in one of the other villains home, not that they would cared that Jafar took it and if they did oh well, it was for a good cause after all.
Slowly, making sure he didn’t mess anything up, Jafar drew a big oval that was connected to circles on both sides, surrounded those circles were smaller ones that held Arabic letters, spells to help him out.
Satisfied, Jafar threw the chalk to the side and wiped his hands away of the dust, he then turned to his son and slowly made his way towards the boy.
Carefully Jafar picked up his wailing child.
He might not enjoy having a child but there were times the boy had his uses so Jafar knew that he had to keep him close.
Rocking back and forth, Jafar had a slight grin on his face.
”Hush my little prince for fate will give you great power and you will help free me of my shackles,” Jafar shushed the child
Jay, his mother named him that before she left in honor of Jafar himself. A simplistic name for a simplistic being really.
Jay cried as Jafar kept rocking him, but to the genie’s pleasure, the screaming slowly began to turn into hiccups.
”That’s it, calm yourself child,” Jafar said softly. Jay tried to reach his hands up to Jafar’s face but he pushed them away.
He didn’t need a child’s grabbing hands pulling at him.
”Are you ready to help your father achieve freedom?” Jafar asks, of course Jay didn’t respond, how could he.
Just another useless thing about babies.
Quickly, Jafar places the child on the ground in the middle of one of the circles he drew, Jay didn’t seem to register that he wasn’t in Jafar’s arms which was good.
He was tired of the boy’s irksome behavior.
Jafar then picks up his lamp which sat on the table and placed it to the opposite of Jay, in the other circle.
”There,” Jafar smirks.
Now everything was ready, he discovered this spell long ago while he was in the underworld after his second defeat to Aladdin, all he needed was a vessel, someone related to him.
Jafar knew that he would still have much of his cosmic power after but how much he gets to keep for himself, who’s to say. But still he needed this to work. This spell will also provide Jay with anything he needs, it will allow him and Jafar to be well prepared should they get off this awful island.
Jafar begins his chant, “Aistidea' alquat alqadima.” The genie waves his arms around the middle of the oval where he placed more words. “Hrrrny min quyudi!”
The room began to feel as if it was spinning, the symbols on the ground were glowing albeit very faintly. A smirk placed the genie’s sorcerer’s face. This was the very reason Jafar chose this run down shack to live in while others were scrambling to claim the much grander homes. This place’s connection to magic was far greater than anywhere on the isle.
Jafar had to shake himself from his thoughts, he still had a job to do.
”Hrrrny wfk qayd alquat alati tumsik bi!” Jafar screamed the last part and suddenly the cuffs around his wrist no longer felt suffocating, instead they felt as if they were melting away.
Glancing down Jafar ground brand new golden cuffs starting to take hold of Jay, he began to wail once more as the wind blew past him.
Honestly the sorcerer was shocked that there was enough magic to manage this feet, he should keep it to himself for now.
Finally as the wind died down and everything in his already disastrous home was even more a mess.
Jafar held his breath as he rushed towards the window, letting out a sigh of relief, no one noticed his little spell.
In the ground cry, Jay sat where the spell circle once was, now it was all burnt away as the barrier tried to keep the spell at bay.
Jafar was satisfied, he beat the barrier and beat his chains.
Happy, Jafar picks up Jay who seemed to be trying to pull off his new cuffs.
”Now now, that won’t work,” Jafar laughs loudly, scaring any lesser villain that might have over heard him.
