Chapter Text
Sakura Haruka is now in his third year, and as the leader of Bofurin, there are times when his younger classmates see him as a cool figure with a cold, seemingly indifferent gaze.
In reality, anyone who knows him well enough would realise that Sakura is still a warm-hearted, mischievous teenager. He might just startle Nirei from behind, or join Anzai and the others in planning pranks.
Even now, as he sits beside Suo—who is drawing up the patrol schedule at the back table by the window—the leader's hands never stop moving. He was no longer fiddling with Suo’s tasselled earring, it’s true, as Sakura’s attention had now shifted to Suo’s single, loosely tied ponytail.
“The Tamon class schedule is sorted.”
“Hmm.”
“But there’s a bit of tension between classes 1-1 and 2-1. Could you mediate between them?”
“I’ll call them in tomorrow.”
“....”
“What else, Suo?”
Suo, who had stopped focusing on the paper, now turned to look at Sakura, and his friend asked in a flat tone without pausing his activity at all.
"... Well, stop twirling my hair, Sakura-kun, it’ll get tangled."
"It’s fine, isn’t it?" Sakura grinned, and Suo sighed, knowing he wouldn’t stop.
All right, it didn’t really bother him, so Suo picked up another sheet of paper and laid out his strategy.
Sakura nodded, occasionally interrupting to ask whatever he felt was necessary, whilst his fingers never stopped playing with the ends of his vice-captain’s hair.
Omake
They’d only just finished discussing everything when the sun set, and the rain came down in torrents without any prior light drizzle.
“I didn’t bring an umbrella,” Sakura muttered as they walked down the corridor.
“Ah? In that case, just the both of us. I’ll walk you home first, then carry on to the station.” Suo calmly proposed a solution, taking an umbrella from the designated rack and letting out a puzzled sound when Sakura snatched it from his hand.
“Sakura-kun?”
“I’ll hold it.”
“All right, but why…?”
Sakura opened the umbrella, glancing at Suo in wonder, as if the answer to that question were all too obvious. “Isn’t it usually the taller person who holds the umbrella?”
And that was indeed the case. Sakura had caught up to Suo’s height in his second year, and now he was a few centimetres taller.
