Work Text:
The castle is quiet, the screams and shouting faded into nothingness. The only sound is Abolish's own breathing and the drops of blood from his sword falling to the ground.
He looks around at the bodies littering the entrance hall, all the blood and viscera painting the dark wood floor. It's going to a be a pain to clean, and even more of a pain to hire new staff.
Abolish doesn't know why they bothered to fight. A revolt against Scott has never worked, and as long as Abolish is alive it never would. He knows Scott is capable of fending for himself, more so than anything Abolish can do to protect him, but he's been trusted to keep the castle in order.
That includes dealing with pests who oppose Scott.
Abolish glances down at his uniform, the suit clean despite the bloodshed. He's had plenty of opportunities to practice, with all the humans thinking they have a chance to best him.
He turns to attention at the sound of heels clicking quietly against wood, bowing his head when Scott comes into view. He sheathes his sword, hands clasping behind his back.
Scott hums to himself, stopping beside Abolish as he takes in the sight. He sighs, leaning his face against his hand.
"So many rats, right under my nose. How disappointing. You would think they would get smarter with time."
Abolish stays silent, knowing Scott doesn't expect him to respond.
Scott turns to face him, lifting his chin up so their eyes meet. Scott's smile is gentle with looks down at him, cooing at whatever he sees in Abolish's face.
He rubs his thumb over Abolish's cheek. "You're done well, darling, though that's hardly a surprise. You've always been competent."
Abolish leans into Scott's hand. "Thank you, my lord."
Scott huffs. "Just Scott is fine when we're alone, dear. You've earned the right to my name, remember?"
Abolish nods.
Scott smiles again, pulling Abolish along behind him as he starts off further into the castle.
He goes back to humming, a tune Abolish knows well enough by now. Abolish falls into step behind Scott, letting himself be taken where Scott wants him.
They stop at the sitting room, Scott taking a seat on the couch, pulling him down to do the same.
He seems remarkably cheery for someone who's household tried to murder him, but Abolish has long given up on trying to understand Scott's moods.
"Abolish, dear, how are you feeling?"
Abolish looks up at him, knowing the question Scott's actually asking. It's considerate that he asks at all when Abolish knows he could take whatever he wants.
"I'm doing well enough for you to feed, Scott. It wasn't even a fight."
Scott's eyes crease in amusement, pulling Abolish closer to him. His hand rests over his heart, and though it's a dangerous position, Abolish isn't afraid.
He knows Scott won't hurt him.
It's this reason that he tilts his head, giving Scott better access to his throat.
Scott leans in, pressing a kiss to Abolish's neck before sinking his fangs into the skin.
Abolish winces at the initial pain of the bite, but relaxes once he starts to go numb. Scott doesn't use venom often when feeding from him, but it feels nice to have his body loosen for once.
He exhales slowly as Scott removes his fangs from the wound, shivering when Scott licks a stripe over the mark.
Scott guides his head to be resting on his shoulder, his hand trailing up and down Abolish's arm. "There we are. That feels good, doesn't it?"
Abolish hums, unable to form words with the venom coursing through his veins.
Scott coos, tilting Abolish's face up. "My loyal human. You're so good for me, darling. "
Abolish eyes flutter shut, sinking into Scott's touch. His eyes open again when Scott's lips find his, a small noise of surprise escaping. It takes a moment for the shock to fade, but when it does, Abolish can't help but lean into the kiss.
Scott nips at his lip, blood pooling in his mouth, but Abolish can't find it in himself to care.
When Scott smirks as he pulls away, tucking hair behind Abolish's ear. "So perfect," he murmurs, laying Abolish back against him. "No one is ever going to take you from me, darling. You're mine, and I'm not keen on sharing."
Abolish nods, exhaustion weighing him down, his body limp against Scott's side.
He's always been Scott's, from the moment the elder vampire took him in. A kiss doesn't change anything, not really, but it is a nice addition.
Scott runs his claws through Abolish's hair, combing through the curls.
It feels good, Abolish barely keeping his eyes open. He's tired and the venom makes sleep even more appealing.
He's comfortable and he knows Scott won't let anything happen to him while he's sleeping, just as Abolish would do the same for him.
With Scott watching over him, Abolish doesn't have to worry about anyone taking advantage of the vulnerability sleep brings. He can rest easily for the first time in a long time.
So long as they're both together, neither one of them will fall.
His eyes slip shut, falling into a light doze under Scott's gentle ministrations.
