Irritation prickles under Scott's skin.
He can hear Pyro struggling to chase after him, though he doesn't bother stopping his stride. The younger vampire went behind his back again, still looking for a cure despite Scott's warnings.
It's annoying, though not surprising. Pyro's an interesting piece on the board, and a careful balance. They're deferential and desperate. They're easy to push around, and it doesn't take much pressure before they bend. Their need for Scott's approval and a place of belonging in the coven is pathetic, but useful.
Scott allowed the fledgling too much freedom, in the end. He thought it would endear Pyro more to his side, and while it's obvious they still want his validation, they aren't staying where he wants them.
"Sire, please wait!"
Pyro's hand clasps around the back of Scott's cloak, and when he turns to glare at them, there's already red tears slipping down their cheeks. Their eyes are wide and their lip quivers, shrinking down under Scott's gaze.
They look terrified, and Scott has to suppress an eye roll at their pitiful expression.
Scott turns, pulling Pyro's claws away from the high quality fabric. He squeezes their wrist hard, looking down at them the same way he would dirt under his heel. "What do you think you're doing?"
Pyro winces, but doesn't try to pull their wrist away from Scott's grasp. Their throat bobs as they swallow, and Scott takes care to track the movement with his eyes, knowing it makes Pyro nervous.
They look up at him, fear twisting their expression. "I'm sorry, Sire. Please— Please don't leave me."
Scott tilts his head, tightening his grip until he can feel the bones shifting under his palm. "Don't leave you? Isn't this what you wanted? You betrayed me again knowing the consequences."
Pyro whines quietly, flinching when Scott squeezes their wrist again. "I didn't betray you, I swear—" their voice shakes. "I was only getting information. I was going to tell you, I promise!"
Unimpressed with the weak excuse, Scott leans over them, his eyes narrowing when they try to step away. His hold on them keeps them in place, and Pyro stays put after realizing the uselessness of trying to get away from him.
They look up at him with glassy eyes. "…I messed up, but I won't do it again. I shouldn't have done anything without telling you. I know that."
Scott hums flatly, releasing their wrist to cross his arms over his chest. "Do you? I already gave you another chance, and you disobeyed me a second time. Maybe you should just stay with the humans if you want to pretend you're something you're not."
Pyro's eyes widen, shaking their head quickly. "No. I don't want— I," they swallow hard. "…Please don't leave me."
When Scott only scowls at their plea, Pyro continues, words rushing out together.
"I'll make it up to you! What do you want me to do?"
Scott stares down at them, tapping his pointer finger against his forearm. They flinch when he reaches for their face, but Pyro doesn't try to back away again, trembling as Scott lifts their chin.
He runs his thumb over their carotid artery, tracing over the bite mark on their throat, holding back a smirk at the way Pyro shudders.
Scott allows himself a small smile. "What are you offering as penance?"
Pyro whines, no words escaping. More tears slip down as they struggle to find a response.
Scott leans in to close to their face, ignoring Pyro's flinch as he presses his tongue to their cheek, licking the blood off.
Scott pulls away slowly, his eyes creasing in amusement at Pyro's wide eyed look. It almost reminds him of a scared, confused puppy.
Pyro exhales shakily. "I— I offer whatever you want, Sire. I want to make it up to you."
Scott hums, brushing his finger over Pyro's bottom lip, eyeing their neck. He knows Pyro can tell what he's thinking, because they tilt their head obediently, giving Scott more access to their throat.
Scott knows Pyro's afraid. He's always known Pyro is afraid of him. It works in his favor most often, but his fledgling is being so pliant right now despite their fear that Scott feels like being generous.
He leans in, pressing his lips to their neck, kissing the skin gently before sinking his fangs in. The blood is thick and cold, but Pyro tastes just as sweet as they did when Scott turned them. Scott can tell they're trying to stay still, but they still end up squirming as Scott feeds.
Pyro falls when Scott pulls away, their body almost limp against Scott's chest.
Scott wraps an arm around their waist, pressing his lips back to their throat. He pulls at their shirt, trailing kisses down to their collarbone.
Pyro shivers, shifting in his arms until they can meet his eyes. "…Scott? What are you doing?"
Scott runs a claw along Pyro's jawline, watching them shiver again. "You're making things up to me, aren't you?"
They swallow again. "Yes, but—"
"Would you rather I leave you here?"
Pyro startles, shaking their head again. "You can't leave me here like this," their hands tighten in the fabric of Scott's shirt. "I— I'm dizzy. Anyone could find me…"
Scott traces a claw along their spine, whispering into their ear. "Then give me what I want. If you want to make things up to me, you have to be good."
Pyro hesitates before nodding.
Scott lifts their face up, pressing his lips against theirs, his tongue slipping into their mouth. They whine softly, but don't fight him, letting Scott do as he pleases.
When Scott pulls away, Pyro's head falls against his shoulder.
Scott smirks to himself, lifting Pyro up into his arms. They press close, looking up at him nervously.
"…Am I forgiven, Sire?"
Scott brushes white locks of hair out of their face. "As long as you do what you're told from now on."
Pyro nods, wiping the rest of the tears off their face.
"I will."
