Work Text:
Y/n pulled her glasses off and rubbed at her eyes a bit before putting them back on. It was lunch, and here she was, her half eaten lunch sitting in front of her while she typed out a strongly worded email to one of her students parents. Y/n did not take shit from anyone, and she was not for the feint of heart. She ran her classroom in a very strict manner and did not tolerate disrespect.
However, some little asshole of a kid had just transferred in and was being a little terror, and y/n did not take so kindly to that. It was only day three of that wild, evil child being in her classroom, and y/n felt that very thin cord about to snap.
And apparently, his mother was not happy. Oh, but not at her son, of course. No, she was angry with y/n for actually disciplining her son. Y/n had sent him out of her classroom and to the principals office every day so far that he had been in her class, and apparently, his mother had a problem with it. She said that y/n was picking on him and it was unfair how she kept 'singling him out'.
Yeah, singling him out her fucking ass. Y/n was over it.
Gojo poked his head into y/n's classroom, grinning when he saw her sitting at her desk. "Whatcha' doing in here?"
Y/n groaned and leaned back in her chair. "No."
"No?" he asked, stepping inside and closing the door behind him.
"No." She repeated, glaring over at him.
"Ow." He winced and held a hand over his heart. "That hurts my heart, y/n."
"Go away." She pointed at him. "I'm already pissed off and you are not making it any better."
Gojo grinned and approached her desk, putting his hands down on it as he leaned forward. "What's got you so mad, pretty girl?"
Y/n rolled her eyes. "You piss me off, go away." She swatted at his arms, only succeeding in making him laugh.
"You're always pissed off." His eyes roamed her face. "No, seriously, what's going on?"
Y/n tipped her head back and blew out a breath. "Little shit in my class, his mom sent me an email basically telling me off for disciplining her wretch of a child."
Gojo snorted, taking a seat on her desk, which made y/n click her tongue at him. "Some parents can't accept the fact that they have a problem child."
"Well she better start, because that little fucker is not going to get away with it in my classroom," she said.
"You're emailing her back?" he asked, reaching over to pull her laptop onto his lap.
"Stop touching my shit, Satoru." She huffed.
He ignored her and scrolled through the email. "I don't get how you can be so scary, yet professional over email,"
"It's a talent." She snatched her laptop back and set it down in front of herself. "Now get out."
Gojo crossed his arms over his chest, that same annoying smirk still settled over his lips.
"You're so mean to me, I kinda like it," he said.
"Nasty fucker." She smacked his arm, moving to stand up.
Gojo's eyes widened and he quickly stood up. "I'm going!" he yelped, knowing nothing good came from y/n getting out of her chair.
Y/n plopped back down the inch into her chair and sighed, quickly reading the email over before hitting send. She grabbed her forgotten lunch and quickly shovelled the rest of her food in her mouth before lunch break was over.
~
Y/n sat down at her desk and grabbed the stack ungraded tests, plopping them down in front of herself to start grading. She'd assigned some reading to her students where they would read some chapters and then answer questions, so the classroom was filled with the sounds of pencils scribbling on paper. Y/n was a firm believer that pencil and paper was best, so there were no laptops or tablets allowed in her classroom.
There was a knock on her classroom door before it was pushed open, and she looked up just in time to hear her students excitement. She sighed tiredly after seeing that stupid head of white hair. She stood up and walked over to Gojo, crossing her arms over her chest as she tilted her head up to meet his eyes, silently cursing the fact he was so freakishly tall.
"Don't you have your own class to teach?" she asked, turning to give her students a stern glare when they all ooh'ed.
"Free period." He grinned, hunching his shoulders a bit so he could lean down to be eye level with her.
He knew she hated it, and that's exactly why he did it, he lived to piss her off. He liked the way her lips pulled down in an angry frown, the way her jaw clenched, how her eyes narrowed at him. He liked her, and his way of flirting was annoying the hell out of her.
"Don't you have things to do, Mr. Gojo?" she asked, her tone bored.
"Nothing I can't do later." His smirk widened.
Y/n narrowed her eyes. "Out."
"Oh, come on." He leaned down further, making y/n lean back to get away from him.
"There is a class full of students here, Mr. Gojo." Y/n warned, and he knew that he was on thin ice, but he wanted to push it just a little bit further.
Gojo reached up and pinched one of y/n's cheeks, and was immediately rewarded with a hard smack on his wrist. He winced and pulled his hand back, shaking out his wrist.
Ah, so worth it, he thought.
He'd been playful and annoying before, but what he'd really wanted was to get his hand on her skin. She looked so soft, so warm. Y/n was undeniably a hard-ass, a little mean, and had the cutest frown. It drew him in the first day they'd met when she'd stared at him like he was gum on the bottom of her shoe, and he'd decided then and there that she was perfect.
"Get out." She pointed a manicured finger toward the door, leaving no room for argument.
The students were giggling and whispering amongst themselves, and y/n made a mental note to scold them later. Gojo turned and walked casually back over to the open door, holding a hand up to wave goodbye.
"See you!" He hummed happily and finally left.
The chatter got a little louder, so y/n turned slowly to face the class, a stern, no bullshit look on her face.
"Do your work!" She barked out, watching as the talking stopped almost immediately and everyone scrambled to get back to their work.
Y/n rubbed her forehead tiredly and sat down at her desk, getting back to grading.
~
Three months later, and y/n was mostly accustomed to Satoru's teasing. In fact, he'd kind of grown on her, like a disease. But y/n would rather chew off her own tongue than admit that to anyone, because at the end of the day, he was still irritating.
He still came to bother her on her breaks, derail her lesson plans, and piss her off. She was just more used to his annoyances at that point. However, she would never tell him that sometimes she enjoyed his company. Y/n knew that if she ever told Satoru that, he would be even more insufferable than he already was.
~
Y/n flexed her fingers for a moment, red pen held between her fingers. School was over for the day, but y/n still had papers to grade, so her day wasn't really over yet. All the students that didn't have extracurriculars had already left, so the school was mostly empty.
And of course, not even fifteen minutes later, her quiet peace was interrupted by an idiot with white hair and stupidly blue eyes.
"Why must you always ruin my peace?" she asked, rubbing her temples.
"I'm hurt." He held his hand over his chest. "I even came here with your favourite food."
Y/n glanced over at him, seeing that there was a bag dangling from his fingers from her favourite restaurant.
"What do you want?" she asked suspiciously as he walked over and placed the bag down next to her stack of ungraded papers.
"Me?" he asked innocently.
"You're never just nice and thoughtful." She pulled the bag towards herself and opened it.
"I'm always nice and thoughtful." He even sounded a little offended, but y/n knew he was just messing around, so she just rolled her eyes.
"Shut up, what do you want?" she asked again, pulling the food out of the bag and taking a bite.
Gojo sat on the edge of her desk. "A date."
Y/n glanced up, slowly chewing the food she had in her mouth before swallowing.
"And where would you take me?" she asked, pointing her plastic fork at him.
Gojo's heart skipped a beat when she didn't immediately refuse him. He had honestly expected her to yell at him and shoo him out, like usual. He'd asked her out a few times before, and that's exactly what she'd done.
"I didn't think I would get this far," he blurted out, making y/n roll her eyes.
"Then you better plan something," she said, flicking her eyes up to meet his.
Gojo stood back up and quickly made his way out of her classroom, phone in hand and a big, stupid smile on his face. But y/n could see the way his fingers twitched, he was nervous. That thought made her grin before she went back to eating and grading papers.
~
Satoru eventually texted y/n the date plans for the upcoming Saturday. Y/n surprised to see that it was less of a plan, and more of an itinerary. Museum, dinner, sunset walk by the lake. He even wrote out the specific times for each event. Y/n was honestly shocked that he put so much thought into everything.
She hadn't expected him to be so thoughtful.
~
That Saturday, y/n hummed along to her favourite song as she got ready for her date with Satoru. She'd already picked her outfit out, and had to factor in the fact that it was early February, so it was still cold out. She finished her makeup and went back into her room to change.
Y/n fixed her hair up and grabbed her purse before head over to the door to slip on her boots. Just as she finished zipping them up, there was a knock on her door. Y/n flicked the lock and opened it, blinking a few times to make sure she was seeing properly, because there was her date, holding the biggest bouquet of her favourite flowers.
"Wow, you look gorgeous," he said after poking his head around the flowers.
Y/n took the flowers from him and silently walked back into her apartment to put them in a vase. Satoru stepped inside and looked around curiously. Y/n finished up soon after and joined him back at the entryway.
"Ready?" He smiled.
Y/n gave him a quick once-over, and liked what she saw. Black dress pants, a belt, and a black fitted turtleneck with a dark grey jacket that had white fur around the collar.
"Yeah."
The car ride was mostly filled with Satoru's rambling, which wasn't unusual. However, the reason for his rambling was different than usual. He was nervous, because he had never seen y/n look like that. She was always beautiful at the school, but seeing her outside of work was a whole different thing.
He pulled into the parking lot of the museum and parked before getting out. He rushed over to the passengers side and opened y/n's door before she could. Y/n raised a brow, but Gojo just smiled wide and held his hand out. Y/n rolled her eyes, but a teeny, tiny smile worked its way onto her face as she took his hand.
Gojo's hand was large, warm, and a little rough. Gojo locked the car and lead her inside while y/n looked around. She hadn't been to this particular museum yet, given that it had only opened recently and she had been so busy with her job. She felt a little tug on her hand and looked up, seeing Gojo smile and motion with his head that they could go on in.
Once inside, y/n started to drag her stupidly tall date around, not that he minded. Y/n didn't even have to read most of the little summaries for the items on display, already knowing what they were and telling Gojo about them, who listened to every word that came out of her mouth. He even asked questions about certain items just to hear her talk.
He snuck a picture when she shook off his hand to walk closer and get a better look at a sculpture surrounded by people. He wasn't really interested in most of the museums items, but he knew y/n was. He'd asked around about her so he could plan their date, he'd asked around a lot.
~
"I've never been here before," y/n said as they sat down at their table.
The restaurant was very lively, the lights were dimmed, and the smell of delicious food was in the air. Their waitress set menus and rolls down in front of them before taking their drink order before leaving. Y/n took her coat off and let it hang over the back of the chair.
Y/n picked up one of the rolls and put some butter on it before taking a bite.
"The food is really good, I've been here a few times before," he said, opening the menu.
"With your other dates?" she asked, half teasing half curious as she opened her menu.
Gojo laughed. "No, with my friends."
"Wow, you have friends? With that personality?" She mocked, flipping through the menu.
"Mean," he said.
"You're used to it." She rolled her eyes.
Conversation flowed easily between the two, to y/n's surprise. She thought that it would be at least a little bit awkward, but it wasn't, not in the least. She still made fun of him, she still rolled her eyes, but it was fun. She really enjoyed herself and the dinner, which was delicious.
~
Gojo swung their joined hands for all of five seconds before y/n used her other hand to smack his shoulder.
"Stop it."
Gojo pouted down at her, but stopped swinging their hands. The pair were walking down by the lake on the dimly lit path. Between the lamp posts, there were strings of tiny lights shaped like snowflakes. The snow crunched under their boots, and silence fell over them.
When they reached the lookout point, y/n rested her forearms over the railing, looking out at the half frozen water, the ice sparkling under the full moon light. Gojo looked down at y/n, eyes catching the way her cheeks were flushed a slight red from the cold wind.
He shuffled up beside her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. He half expected her to smack him again, but she just let him.
"This went better than I expected." She admitted.
"You finally said yes to a date and you thought I'd blow it?" He laughed. "Not a chance."
Y/n's lips quirked up and she leaned her head against his side. "Guess you're not that awful." She shrugged.
"That's high praise coming from you," he said.
"I know." She smirked. "Enjoy it while it lasts, Satoru."
They enjoyed the silence for all of one minute before Gojo leaned down and brushed his nose against y/n's temple, catching her attention. She looked up questioningly, and he pressed their lips together softly, pulling away quickly. He felt like he was pushing his luck with that kiss.
"If you're going to kiss me then do it right," she said, grabbing the front of his jacket and yanking him down to smash their lips back together.
When they pulled away, they were both panting softly with flushed cheeks. Gojo's hair was a little disheveled, and he felt slightly dazed.
Y/n patted his chest and went back to looking at the lake.
"Does this mean we can go on another date?"
"Shut up."
