Work Text:

There's something about quiet Saturday mornings and lazy cuddles that makes Minho want to stay in bed all day.

It's the quiet moments where he can feel his and Changbin's hearts together, beating in sync. A slow rhythm that almost lulls Minho back into a deep sleep.

Almost.

It's common that Minho wakes up in the mornings with his arm still fast asleep. It's where Changbin loves to lay his head at night, and it's how Minho loves to fall asleep — with his bunny safe in his arms. Now, with Changbin still asleep and snoring slightly, Minho is left with a numb arm and a stomach that needs to be fed. Like right now.

There's something amusing in the way he wiggles his fingers and feels nothing, giggling quietly to himself. Though, he thinks the numbness is all worth it just to watch his boyfriend's peaceful face as he sleeps — yes, he is aware it might be creepy, and no, he does not care.

He loves the way his boyfriend's fluffy white ears flop down into the pillows, half landing on Minho's face.

Minho doesn't mind one bit.

He loves the way Changbin's cute pink nose twitches every few seconds — he must still be dreaming, Minho guesses. He hopes he's only dreaming of pretty, beautiful things just like his boyfriend deserves.

And by pretty, beautiful things he means himself, of course.

Pressing a gentle kiss to Changbin's nose — and adoring the way it twitches at the touch — Minho goes to get up. He's careful not to wake his bunny, finally freeing his arm from underneath him and shaking it a few times so it comes back to life.

He grabs his phone from the bedside table to check the time, just to see a string of messages from Jisung, sent at two in the morning. He decides he'll deal with that later. After breakfast.

Fifteen minutes later, Minho is halfway through making breakfast — just a few scrambled eggs with toast, he's too lazy to do anything else right now — when he feels strong arms wrapping around him from behind.

"G'morning, bunny," Changbin greets, voice low and raspy from sleep.

Minho huffs at the pet name, feigning annoyance. "You know I hate when you call me that," he says, but it's no use when he feels the slightest twitch of his tail.

Traitor.

He can feel the ghost of Changbin's smile against his neck, hands petting Minho's sides in that way Minho (and his tail, too, apparently) adores. If it's a distraction, it works. And he knows Changbin knows it works. How unfair. "I think your tail says otherwise, bunny."

Minho curses under his breath before focusing his attention back to the task at hand. Breakfast, right. He turns off the stove and moves around in Changbin's arms so they're face to face. "Hi." He blinks up at Changbin.

"Hi," Changbin repeats back dumbly.

Sometimes (read: all the time) Minho thinks the greatest gift of his life is the smile Changbin gifts him every morning.

It's pathetic how much he likes that smile.

Rays of sunlight break through the curtains and spill across their apartment in warm shades of gold and orange. It's why Minho loved this apartment in the first place. The way the morning light always finds its way to them, wrapping around them like their own little bubble, makes it feel more like home.

Or maybe it's just the fact that Changbin is there with him, too. Maybe his home is just Changbin.

It's beautiful. Breathtaking, even. But Minho's never seen anything more perfect than Changbin in the mornings, and Changbin's smile, and the way he radiates the same kind of warmth as the sun. Or maybe even warmer than the sun.

"What are you doing here?" Minho says at last, placing his hands on Changbin's buff chest, fingers playing with the strings of his hoodie that Minho is pretty sure it's actually his. "You were supposed to stay in bed until I was done with breakfast."

"And miss your beautiful morning face?" Changbin asks. "I don't think so."

"You're ridiculous," Minho says.

Changbin pouts. "I'm not."

Minho nods, trying to keep the serious face. He catches the way Changbin's eyes fall to his lips, just for a brief second, before their eyes lock again in an intense stare.

"You are," he whispers, inching closer to Changbin's face. God, Changbin looks so pretty with messy morning hair, it is ridiculous. "And I think your good morning sucked, by the way. It's missing something."

They stare at each other for a few seconds, and Minho's prette sure he sees stars in Changbin's eyes, just by looking at him. His heart skips a little. He's already closing the distance for their usual good morning kiss when Changbin turns his head, reaching behind Minho for something completely irrelevant to the matter at hand.

By the time Minho focuses on him again, Changbin already has the salt in one hand. When he looks back at Minho, a smirk in place, he shakes the salt loudly.

Idiot.

"Let me help," Changbin says smugly. "Something tells me you forgot to add salt to our lovely breakfast."

Damn it. He knew he was forgetting something.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Minho feigns ignorance, confidently meeting Changbin's knowing eyes even when the lie is obvious to everyone withing a two-mile radius. "I think your instincts are off today."

"Are they?" Changbin's challenging tone and raised eyebrow spark something inside Minho that makes him want to devour his boyfriend right there. He doesn't, unfortunately. "If I try the food right now, will it be salty just like we both like it?"

Changbin's intense gaze and strong arms pin Minho back against the counter, making him feel like prey.

But two can play this game.

And Minho loves playing the game.

In a matter of seconds, he's grabbing Changbin by the hips and turning them around, with Changbin's back now against the counter, and Minho's arms caging him in.

"What about a kiss first." It's not a question, but a demand. Minho's trying hard to hide the fact that he desperately wants that kiss, that a morning without Changbin's kiss is not precisely a good morning.

He doesn't think he's succeeding when Changbin grins.

That stupid, idiotic grin that melts all of Minho's insides.

"Are you trying to distract me from the fact that our food is salt-less right now?" Changbin asks.

Minho's nose twitches. "Kiss me and I'll answer."

"Why don't you kiss me if you want it that bad?"

"Why do you always have to—" He's cut off by a pair of sweet, honey-like lips against his own.

Minho hums into the kiss, tilting his head for a better angle and winding his arms around Changbin's neck. He feels Changbin's hands settle on his waist and he's never been more content to exist.

He whines when Changbin nibbles gently on his bottom lip before pulling back, smug and grinning mischievously.

"So…" Changbin starts, "Did you add salt to our food?"

⊹ ˖ Ი𐑼

Minho, in fact, did not add salt to their food.

"If you knew then why did you try?" He asks between giggles as his boyfriend dramatically shakes with disgust at the bland food.

Changbin glares at him, but Minho can see right through him. He's enjoying this too much. "Well, I know you're a good cook, maybe I just had faith in you."

Minho sticks his tongue out and goes to say something else — maybe a comeback to Changbin's obvious teasing or a witty word — when Changbin shuts him up with a kiss.

"Oh," Minho breathes after they separate. He can feel the stupid smile on his face as he stares at Changbin, whose own smile mirrors his in a way that makes butterflies flutter in Minho's stomach.

How gross.

The life of a bunny in love, Minho thinks.

He carries the thought with him as they move around the kitchen, finishing up breakfast as if they were one body. The thought is there as they sit down to eat and talk about their week, their friends, their families, the life they've built together.

And the thought disappears (intensifies, but that's just details) as Changbin drags him back to the bedroom after breakfast and tries to kiss him.

"Gross!" Minho screeches, pulling away from his boyfriend and making an escape to the bathroom. "I'm not kissing you when you just ate eggs!"

"You ate eggs, too!" Changbin calls after him.

A second later, he appears in the doorway.

Minho points at the toothbrush waiting for him.

"Brush your teeth," he says, eyebrow raised in challenge.

"You know," Changbin starts, giggling as he takes the toothbrush from the sink before joining Minho in front of the mirror. "This is so hypocritical of you. You love it when I kiss you after eating you ou—"

"Bin-ah!" Minho screams, head tilting up to stare at the ceiling, toothbrush hanging from his mouth. "That's just details," he spits out, words a little fumbled. When he looks back to his side, the door is wide opened, and he's met with multiple pairs of furry eyes staring back at him. "And please, be more decent," he points at the plushies sitting on the bed. "The babies are listening."

Minho watches as Changbin turns around, mouth opened and eyes wide. "Yah! Kids!" he yells at the plushies. "Please don't repeat what your father just said."

Minho breaks into a fit of giggles.

By the time they're done brushing their teeth, Changbin has somehow convinced Minho to crawl back into bed.

Not that Minho needed much convincing anyway.

And as they lay in bed, droopy eyes and stomach full, Minho remembers the texts sitting on his phone. "Jisungie texted me this morning," he says, fingers playing with Changbin's soft, sensitive ears, making them twitch adorably in his hands.

So cute.

"I'm assuming that by this morning you mean like, three in the morning."

"Close. It was actually two."

"That hamster—"

"Squirrel," Minho corrects, amused.

One of Changbin's ears flicks dismissively. "Same thing." He laughs. "He tells me he'll go to the gym with me in the mornings but keeps canceling."

"I could go with you," Minho suggests.

"No you won't."

"I could, though!"

"Bunny," Changbin deadpans. "No offense but we both know you would rather run three consecutive marathons than ever step foot inside a gym."

And… Okay. Minho can't argue with that logic. He has good enough of a stamina to run without stopping, sometimes even dragging Changbin with him for a long run at night. However, he draws the line at hell — meaning, the gym.

Minho truly, really despises the gym.

So he sighs, defeated. "You got me there."

Changbin presses a kiss to his cheek. "Why was the hamster texting you at two in the morning anyway?" he asks.

Minho huffs, cuddling closer and seeking the warmth of his boyfriend's body. "He invited us over to some party he and Yongbok are going."

"What did you say?"

He shrugs. "I haven't replied yet."

There's a pause where Changbin just hums and wraps an arm around Minho's torso, pulling him closer. Minho turns to his side, curling on Changbin's chest, ears flopping on the pillow.

It's peaceful, warm like every morning they spend curled up in bed together.

Minho loves Changbin.

"So?" Changbin asks eventually, breaking the comfortable silence that had settled in the room.

Minho glances up from where he's half-curled against his chest.

"So?"

"Are we going?"

Minho hums. "Do you want to go?"

Changbin doesn't even hesitate. "Nope."

Minho relaxes once again. "Thank you, because I don't want to go either."

"Aww… you would rather stay with me?"

Minho's tail immediately gives him away. But he plays it off. "Shut up and sleep."

Changbin laughs softly, the sound vibrating through Minho's cheek where it's pressed against his chest.

A moment later, Minho feels a kiss pressed between his ears.

"Love you too, bunny."

Minho rolls his eyes, but he doesn't bother arguing.

Well, Jisung and the dirty dishes they left behind on the sink can all wait. For now, Minho has his bunny in his arms, and he can't really think of anywhere else he'd rather be.
