Kiera had fled in the night, Daenora by her side, and never once regretted it, never once looked back. She had seized her path forwards and made her life truly her own. She and Daenora would find their own future, away from the pressures of family and marital duty.
It might not always be safe on the road, but it was safer than where they had come from. Safer and freer, and so far more pleasant, even if it was by no means always easy.
Sometimes, a little risk was worth it, when this wonderful, glorious freedom was what resulted.
