Chapter 1: Dandy's World.

Chapter Text

During August 14th of 1987, the first episode of what would be the future for cartoons appeared, it was called “Dandy's world”, a slapstick children's education cartoon.

It was sort of meant to be an introduction, a small cartoon meant to be just another cartoon for kids to watch amongst the others, but it ended up being much, much more than this.

It gained popularity, so much popularity that the show founder not only made four more episodes, but had also gained a contract deal by a network named “Nickelodeon” and Arthur had gained a team of artists to help his vision become much more real.

There was also a soda company named Pop that was recently released internationally, and Arthur had somehow managed to land a collaboration to put their mascot in the show, their first international character, but most certainly not their only.

After the collaboration, money and fame were two inevitable events that would happen. And soon, Arthur's visions became less of a dream and more of something he could make a reality.

And soon, his visions became grander. He wanted to make an education center that would double as a museum, a workplace and most of all, a home for the toons that he had planned to make real.

There was a problem with making the toons actually real biological beings that you can talk and interact with, it was too unrealistic. Most scientists told him that he was dreaming way too much, artists could not recreate his vision.

That was until he was contacted by a scientist by the name of Delilah keen.

Delilah keen was infamous but also famous in the science community depending on who you asked, some called her a crazy woman for her experiments and ability to create things nobody thought possible, but others admired her work and dreamed of working with her.

When she heard about making toons real, she didn't dismiss it as “over dreaming” she saw it as a challenge of her genius. And she took it head on with grace.

When Arthur first came into contact with her, he was a bit hesitant, but a desperation to make his dream real made him forget his hesitation and agree to meet up with the questionably famous scientist who could make his vision real.

In the middle of a diner, the two sat on a table. Delilah held a coffee she ordered while Arthur didn't order anything, coming to the diner to strictly talk about business.

“So.. from what I have heard, you want to make an education center with the toons as real beings to interact with guests?”

“Yes.”

Delilah pushed up her glasses with a confused look.

“That.. is a weird thing to want, don't you think?”

Arthur nodded.

“I know, but this is important to me because I wanted to make an education center and I wanted the toons to be in it.”

Delilah tapped her finger on the table as she thought it out.

“I can give it a try. But I cannot promise stellar results.”

Arthur extended his hand.

“So is that a deal?”

Delilah shook it.

“I suppose, but there are a few more things I'll need to ask.”

Arthur nodded, ready to answer.

“Do you know their voice actors personally? Do you have any episodes up? Do we have an idea of the education center?”

Delilah asked rapidly.

Arthur seemed surprised by the three questions at a rapid pace but nodded.

“Yes, I have personal information on the voice actors, I do have a few episodes on, but it's only about the main characters and one side character so far. As for the education center, I do have an idea, it's near a park.”

Delilah nods.

“I see..”

Arthur took a deep breath.

“If we have a deal, could you name your price?”

Arthur asked. Delilah gave it a moment before she responded.

“Co-founder rights.”

She responded sternly.

Arthur seemed confused before Delilah explained.

“In exchange for creating toons, and I am presuming you want them to act and sound like they're from the show, I'd like to have co-founder rights, I think it is a very fair price.”

Arthur nodded at the explanation as if it was a fair price.

“I see. I will get that sorted for you, is that all?”

“Yes.”

“Alright then. I look forward to doing business with you, Ms. Keen. I hope our partnership lasts us a very long time.”

Delilah nodded.

“I have a feeling it will.”
