Jack walked back into the Hub, cradling a corpse in his arms. Limp hair hung down from her head, and her eyes were closed, an action Toshiko knew was performed by Jack. He turned to Toshiko, and she turned on her screen, ready to fake a story. He shook his head, “The last victim of the serial killer.”
Toshiko’s eyes widened, “Suzie?”
Jack shook his head, “Gone. Tracing her isn’t worthwhile, not with the wipe of our systems.”
She sent him a sad smile, and watched as he left with the corpse once more, presumably to contact the police.
Some part of her couldn’t quite believe it. Suzie had left her them. They hadn’t called it anything, hadn’t given it a name, but Toshiko couldn’t just believe that Suzie could leave her like this.
It broke her heart that she found the murders so believable.
Poor Gwen Cooper. Another casualty of Torchwood. As was Suzie. She just got to life to tell the tale. Not that she could, not without Jack hunting her down like a dog set loose.
