Summary
30 years ago, NYPD police officer, Aya Brea, investigated a catastrophic threat caused by “Eve", an ancient consciousness that came from human mitochondria that wanted to replace humanity as the apex predator. But Aya put a stop to Eve once and for all at the Chrysler Building.
Fast forward to December 30, 2027, this goober ass 25-year-old NYPD Buryat-American rookie cop, Anastasia (Nastya) Baldanova, is on a miserable blind date at a pop rock concert at Webster Hall. But then everyone except Nastya burns to crisp by Eve's command, putting her in an evolutionary war with the third "Eve". The press alerts the DSO, and they send Leon S. Kennedy to NYC to investigate this "bioterror" attack. When Leon meets Nastya, she wants to keep things "casual", but she won't make it easy for him to capture her heart. Nastya is determined to protect Leon and keep him from finding out about her powers because this twisted game is between herself and Eve only. But not if Leon can help it! Leon is determined to protect Nastya from becoming numb just like he did after 29 years of fighting bioweapons.
