Something felt very wrong. His limbs felt weak, loose, cold. His mind was cloudy and all he could see was darkness. His chest rumbled, he was sure he was making a noise. Light began to funnel in, blurry shapes, blue hues. Warmth – someone had caught him. Strong arms were wrapped around him. Very strong.
He blinked as clarity began to return to his eyes finally. Shapes became faces. Warmth became a person. He didn’t recognise any of them.
Keith could see faces, but he didn’t know any of them. Where was he? Who was holding him? What had happened? What had they done? The glowing marks on the cheeks of two of them, what was going on? The air was too stale, too controlled. This wasn’t the desert, it wasn’t his home. Where was he?
“Hey, Keith, you’re ok. You were hurt,” that voice – it had an unusual soothing quality. The person holding him, blue eyes so calm, so soft. Concerned. The person meant him no harm. He looked familiar, now he thought about it. Something was off though, he looked different.
“I was?” his lips moved without his permission, squinting up at the man.
There was a collective pause around the room. Keith frowned, trying to stand on his own, but his legs were numb. He was completely useless, held by the arms of the familiar stranger. Panic flared through him.
“You lost a lot of blood,” an orange haired, creatively mustached man with glowing marks said. Keith stared at him. He could see only concern on his face. Nothing malicious. But, he had no scent, nothing in a room of strangers. He couldn’t pick out any scents, something was blocking it. Something was wrong.
“What do you remember?” a short girl with glasses and pixie brown hair asked. She looked curious, more so than the others. There was concern, and she looked more familiar than anyone else. Something flickered in his mind. He knew her.
“You’re Katie Holt.”
The whole room seemed to hold their breath. A collective inhale. The man holding him looked sad, hurt, but unsurprised. Still, he refused to release Keith, holding him up. Keeping strong arms around weak limbs.
“Did I say the wrong thing?”
The girl, Katie, shook her head with a small smile. It didn’t reach her eyes. “No, of course not. I go by Pidge now. What’s the last thing you remember?”
He thought about it. Really thought, puling the memory from the darkness. He blinked. “I was in my shack, something was crashing down to Earth. Did I get hit?”
Orange haired man shook his head. “No, Keith, not then. That was seven years ago.”
Though the tone was soft, gentle, Keith’s whole mind stopped. What? Seven years? He could feel his heart hammering in his chest, could see the floor blurring around the edges. Short breaths. Seven years? He’d forgotten seven years? What had happened? Who was he? Where was he?
“Keith,” that voice, so soothing, so gentle. Keith froze, eyes flickering to the gentle man holding him. He was like a calming balm, something soft washing over him. Who was he?
“Who are you?”
It was the wrong thing to say, but he didn’t know why. The man flinched. His grip never wavered, holding Keith strong and firm. Hurt flashed through beautiful blue eyes and Keith felt it within himself. Who was this man? Why did he care?
“Figures you’d forget me, I’m Lance. You know, Lance and Keith, neck and neck? From the Garrison?”
Keith wracked his brain. Lance. Lance. He could see a face, a bright, cheerful face that belonged to a cocky young alpha. That image did not match the man before him, who stood with him, scar running across his face from his left eye. Soft features, gentle eyes. This was not the man he remembered.
“Cargo pilot?”
Lance beamed, practically glowing. Keith ignored the small pulse through his own body of relief. “I knew you remembered me!”
Keith watched Lance. This was not the same boy he thought he remembered. The annoying loudmouth alpha. Was it? He had the same smile, the same blue eyes. But the man seemed older, gentler, calmer. He couldn’t believe the man from the Garrison had a gentle bone in his body.
“What happened?” Keith asked again, trying to pull away from Lance. The alpha didn’t let up, keeping weak limbs trapped. How was Lance so strong? Why was he so weak?
“You got shot,” Lance said, sounding so pained, so angry. “You took a bullet for me.” There was something in his tone that made Keith want to apologise, but he didn’t. Couldn’t. He wasn’t about to apologise to loudmouth Lance.
“Why would I do that?”
“Because you’re an idiot,” Lance said. “I was fine.”
“Clearly not,” Keith said.
“Anyway,” Pidge said, glaring at Lance. He shrunk back and Keith almost felt the need to defend him. What. “You lost a lot of blood, we got you to the pod to save your life and Hunk gave you a lot of his blood. We weren’t sure about memory loss though.”
Keith blinked. “Pod?”
“Ah, yes. You’re no longer on Earth, my boy. Welcome to the Castle of Lions, I’m Coran. This here is Princess Allura. We’re currently in the Valit quadrant, perfectly safe, I assure you.”
Keith was glad Lance was holding him up. He felt his limbs shake. Heart stop. What? He wasn’t on Earth? How was that possible? Something flashed, an image of a blue lion, still in darkness and covered with a blue sphere. Was this related?
“How?”
“Perhaps we should get you some food,” Allura said, not unkindly. She had a beautiful face, long white hair. Alien. She wasn’t human. They were in space. This was a lot. He wasn’t sure he could stomach food. Still, the others had voiced their agreement, and Lance was dragging him towards another room. A dining room.
Food was good. His stomach felt far more settled after Hunk had given him a bowl. Lance finally let him go, pushing him into a seat and staying close. Keith kept an eye on him. The strange behaviour was making him rather uncomfortable. What did Lance want from him?
“Will my memories come back?” he asked, after Coran had tried to explain the last seven years. Voltron, Zarkon, Lotor, Haggar, Sendak. The Blade. He was the leader. It was all so much, too much to believe. He needed proof. Needed his own memories. Could he even trust these people? Lance was a playboy, loudmouth alpha. Pidge was looking for her brother. He didn’t know Hunk at all, but at least he was human.
“What about Shiro?”
A silence fell over the room. It was cold, the first time since he’d woken. Keith knew before Pidge even opened her mouth. He was gone. The only person in the universe who could love him, gone? He’d done so much to keep Shiro, to find him. He’d been kicked from the Garrison for him. And he was gone?
It hadn’t been seven years for him. It had been two hours. This was too much. He was trapped on a spaceship, he was supposed to be their leader, with people he didn’t know. How was any of this ok?
A hand found Keith’s shoulder. Something about it, so soft and gentle, was startingly familiar. Keith shot a look to the owner. Lance, loudmouth Lance. Soft eyes, gentle smile, he looked kind. Warm. Keith’s breathing, despite it all, slowed. He was so confused. How did this alpha have so much power over his body? His mind? Why Lance, of all people?
If Shiro were here, things would be so much easier.
“What are you doing?”
Lance froze, tilting his head. “You looked upset.”
“Why do you care? Why do any of you care?” he was being too harsh, he knew that. But he didn’t know these people. Had it really been seven years, or was this some elaborate prank? Was Shiro even gone?
“Of course we care,” Lance said, looking offended. “A little amnesia won’t change that.”
“Amnesia. Right. And I just have to trust that?”
Lance blinked, tilting his head. “Oh. Yeah. I forgot.” A wry smile spread across soft lips. “You won the award for least trusting man.” Then, he shrugged. “Look at your hands.”
He did, unsure why he was blindly trusting this alpha. He looked, really looked. They were wrinkled, scarred, dry. They were also soft, manicured and painted. Black nail polish was chipped on short nails. Scars littered the pads of his fingers, a long, unknown scar tracing the back of his left hand.
These were not the hands he knew.
He met Lance’s eyes again. The softness, the understanding. How did the alpha do it? How was he so calm? Keith didn’t know anything anymore. He didn’t. he didn’t even know who he was anymore. These scars belonged to someone else. Someone who’d earned them.
“We’re going to get your memories back,” Pidge said. “You’ll be ok.”
He blinked. How was any of this ok?
“I think I’d like to be alone for a while. Where is my room?”
An odd look flashed over Lance’s features, but it was gone before Keith could recognise it. He smiled, looking the picture of calm. He stood, holding a handout for Keith.
He didn’t take it. He could walk, the food had returned his strength at least. He followed Lance, surprised by the quiet. Loudmouth Lance wasn’t talking at all.
They came to a room that felt – sterile. Keith supposed he would be the type to keep things minimal. He’d never had much.
He dropped onto the clean bed, devoid of any scents. Not even his own. He closed his eyes, hoping this was all some bad dream. He would wake and know who he was.
He found the training room with muscle memory. He found the kitchen on accident. And he’d found Lance’s room without thinking.
Lance opened the door in his sleep clothes, looking – dishevelled. He looked upset. Keith was the one who’d lost his memories, but Lance looked hurt.
Except, the look was replaced by concern when he saw Keith at his door. Lance, who’s scent was so much stronger now, ocean salt and green grass. Keith could breathe it in all day, he found it so relaxing. That thought startled him. Another alpha couldn’t relax him, right? Or – no. no, that was something he wouldn’t think. Omegas weren’t so much as allowed to look at space stations, let alone go to school and become a pilot.
“Keith? Everything ok?”
There was no denying that Lance was concerned, worried, hurt, but the man was putting it all aside for Keith. Why? Why? Why was this alpha, his rival, so worried? Why did he even care? He hated loudmouth Lance, wanted him to shut up, leave him alone. Was glad Lance being only a cargo pilot. At least he hadn’t had to deal with his constant chattering all the time.
“Hey, talk to me. What’s wrong?” there was that soothing tone again. The softness. What was happening? Why was this man able to steady him so much?
“What’s your deal?” the words were harsher than he’d intended, and he saw Lance recoil. But, Keith would give him credit. Lance was a fighter. “Why do you even care? Why did I find this room instead of mine? What did you do to me?”
Lance blinked. “Keith-”
“Shut up,” he snapped. He ran a hand through his hair. “Just – shut up. This is insane. I wake up in some future where I’m the leader? A group moving around and saving the universe? This is crazy. And then there’s you – what the hell, Lance? And I get the training room, I accidently found the kitchen, but – why here? What – why? Tell me what’s going on.”
He was pleading, his voice had cracked. But he needed to know. He’d seen all these pitying looks from the others. He’d seen Lance watch Keith, something broken in his eyes. He’d seen Lance gravitate towards him, then pull away. Loudmouth Lance was perhaps the most competent on the team, he’d seen their training. It didn’t make sense, it didn’t match with his own memory of the boy.
And Keith had taken a bullet for this man. Why? Why would he do that? He didn’t know Lance, not this one. This soft, powerful man. The one who didn’t smell or act like an alpha. The one who’d closed his bedroom door before Keith could see inside, who was watching Keith with broken eyes.
“I’m not sure you want to know,” Lance finally said.
“What? Yes, I do. Tell me, Lance. Please. I’m going crazy. I don’t even know who I am anymore. I have all these scars on my body, and I don’t know how I got any of them. Please.”
Lance softened. “I know who you are, Keith. You’re the leader of Voltron, a hot head, and our best fighter. You’re the man we all trust. You don’t know it now, but we all trust you, Keith. Even if you don’t get your memory back, that’s who you are.”
Keith watched Lance. He fiddled with the soft, exposed skin of his neck.
Except, as Keith’s eyes were drawn to the skin, it wasn’t bare. A mark, a mate mark, lay firmly on tanned skin. The only blemish on his neck. Fangs that didn’t look entirely human had done that.
Alphas didn’t mark other alphas. Omegas almost never marked their alphas. Lance’s scent. The softness. Keith had never met an omega at the Garrisi=on, they weren’t allowed. But. There was no mistaking it. Lance was one.
“You’re an omega?”
Lance blinked, pulling his hand from the mark. Who put that there? Did Keith know them? Did they deserve this blue-eyed protector? “I am.”
“How?”
“I was born,” Lance said, an amused smile taunting his lips. “That a problem, Kogane?”
Was it a problem? He’d seen Lance fight, seen him wield blade and gun effortlessly. This man was no weak omega. He was badass. Was it a problem? No. the only problem was Keith needed to know who got to keep this omega.
“No,” he said, and Lance relaxed.
“Good,” he said. “Because I can’t exactly hide it. And I won’t change, it’s who I am.”
“How’d you get into the Garrison?”
Lance shrugged. Something about his expression made Keith understand that Lance pushed boundaries to get what he wanted. That Lance didn’t care about society, not when he wanted to be a pilot. “Suppressants, acting. People tend to ignore someone the louder they are.”
Loudmouth Lance, the alpha, which was all a lie.
Keith watched the man. Knew now he’d locked his door to stop him from seeing his nest. The omega’s nest. But.
“It still doesn’t explain who you are to me,” he could be overthinking it. He wanted to. A part of him ached, hoping he hadn’t forgotten who Lance was to him. He couldn’t think of hurting this omega like that. Lance could just be the pack omega, was that even still a thing? He’d never met anyone who had an omega before. Never been part of a pack.
Lance looked down. Fiddled with his night shirt. Closed his eyes. It took a long moment, before the omega sighed. “I’m your mate.”
Keith froze, that familiar dread racing through him. No way. No. Loudmouth Lance? Protector – omega? This was his mate? He’d forgotten his own mate?
The silence made Lance’s scent sour and Keith hated it.
“Yeah. Sorry.” Lance refused to look up.
Keith blinked. “Sorry?”
“I’m not exactly your first choice, right?” he gave a short, weak laugh. Keith ached. This was his mate. What did Lance even see in him? Why would Lance think Keith wouldn’t want him? This omega, who fought so hard, kept the team together. Keith had seen it in the time he’d been here, just two cycles. But it was more then enough to see how good Lance was.
“We,” he paused, thinking his words through. Changed. “I don’t know right now. I don’t know who I am. I don’t know who you are, but I do know you’re safe.”
Lance’s eyes snapped to him, wide and wet. “I am?”
“Yeah.” He knew that. Trusted that. “How do I know that, Lance? What’s wrong with me?”
The omega softened, reaching a hand forwards. Keith took it, the softness of those tanned hands, the small scars that littered his own. “You’re sick, Keith. That’s all. Injured. We’re going to get your memories back, I promise. I am not losing you again.”
“What if they don’t come back? I don’t know you, Lance.” He knew how hard this must be on Lance now. His mate. This must be killing him. “I’m sorry.”
“When you get your memories back, I’m gonna kick your ass, I promise. But for now, you have nothing to be sorry for.”
“You must miss me though.”
Lance’s façade cracked. He looked close to tears, scent souring. Keith felt awful. This was his fault. “I do. But, you’re here. And if you never get your memories back, I will just make you love me all over again.” There was something in those words, soft insecurity. Keith heard it, but he didn’t know Lance well enough to decipher it.
Instead, he said what he was thinking. “I doubt that will be hard.”
It had been a week. Apparently, they didn’t call it that anymore. Whatever. Keith knew his way around the castle now and Lance had given him the grand tour, complete with theatrics. He’d been practically dancing through the castle halls, hopping around.
Loudmouth Lance indeed.
But, Keith found himself enjoying it. Lance’s company was welcome, refreshing. He was soft, gentle, and he never hid from Keith. If he wanted the truth, Lance would give it. He knew how easy it would be to lie, to tell Keith he wasn’t his omega, but he hadn’t. Keith knew it was one of the reasons he’d fallen for this man in the first place.
Keith had been training with the others. His body remembered even when his mind needed to catch up. It was why Lance was so soothing. His body was so used to Lance being around, holding him. Using that comforting scent for himself.
They were no closer to getting his memories back. They’d begun to try things, anything that they could think of. They’d scared him, tried to hit him over the head – Pidge’s suggestion had been shot down by an angry Lance, the protective omega almost vibrating with anger and Keith had only laughed. They’d tried telling him about significant events, showing photos, stories.
Nothing so far. He was at the Garrison, or he was there. He knew he was a mated alpha, he was the leader, he was part of a pack. But that was all he knew, he didn’t know anything else. He wanted to know how he’d earned this, earned the heart of Lance, earned the trust of the pack. He wanted his memories back.
“I think we need to bring in the big guns,” Lance said on the 8th day – movement, whatever. He wanted his memories to come back so he could understand time. It was insane.
“Big guns?” Keith asked, tilting his head. He’d come to learn that Lance’s ideas were somehow always good. Lance who was Keith’s second in command, who was able to lead with him. Effortlessly, he thought. Lance was so good, taking care of their team. He kept up with Pidge and her ramblings, he helped Hunk in the kitchen, sparred with Keith without breaking a sweat. Somehow, this omega with water for eyes was the most important person in Keith’s life and he didn’t remember.
It scared him, but he trusted Lance. He was safe. The bright mark on his neck. Lance’s smile lit up any room, and he’d chosen Keith. Trusting Lance felt right. No memory of loudmouth alpha Lance could replace this version.
“Yup,” Lance said, grinning. The others all seemed confused, and Keith was relieved to not be the only one in the dark.
“True loves kiss,” Pidge suggested from the back.
The room went stiff, and Keith felt himself freeze. Lance was a vibrant pink, he was looking anywhere by Keith. This was his omega, that mark on his neck was his. But, it didn’t feel right.
“If training didn’t wake him, I doubt a kiss will,” Hunk said, looking at his best friend. Keith watched the pair the last week, he knew how close they were. Keith couldn’t quite fathom it, he’d never had friends before. He’d never seen a future for himself outside the shack, but there he was.
Lance’s cheeks were beet red, but he coughed. “Ah, no. I was thinking Keith’s mother.”
Keith felt the tonal shift, his eyes almost bugging from his head, jaw dropping open. “My mother?”
Lance scratched at the back of his neck. “Oh, yeah. Sorry. Your mother. She’s a blade general. Epic woman. She’s good. Forgot to mention her, I’m a tad scared of her.” His voice grew delicate at the end and Keith blinked.
Lance was scared of his mother? Why?
Except, Hunk beat him to answer. “Dude, Krolia loves you. You know how happy she is for you two.” The words were soft, Keith had to strain to hear them, but he saw how it relaxed Lance.
Right, Lance with his insecurities. Another thing Keith had noticed. Lance would go into the training room tense, convinced people were watching, judging. Afraid he wasn’t enough. The omega amongst alphas. The imposter. Too loud, not enough. He tried so hard, but Keith knew he didn’t think it was enough. Keith really hoped his future self saw this too and didn’t just let Lance think this.
But he had a mother? A whole mother? Family? What?
“I’ll give her a call.”
Seeing his mother was insane. It was unbelievable. He’d never thought he’d ever get to meet his mother. He’d never thought she’d wanted him. But there she was, standing across from him, walking from a ship. Purple.
Was Lance not going to tell him his mother was Galra? That he was Galra? That felt like essential information.
Krolia watched Keith, dark eyes boring into his. She was warm, friendly enough. Keith saw Lance shy from her, ducking his head. The omega was nervous. He’d said as much, that he blamed himself, thought Krolia would snap at him. That she would think this was his fault.
Keith was the one who’d chosen to take the shot. He was sure of it now, he would do it again. He’d do it for any of the team. He knew the instincts in his chest. He didn’t remember loving Lance, but he knew how easy it would be. Loudmouth Lance was just so easily loveable.
They converged in the med bay and Krolia looked over the scans with Coran. Lance hung at Keith’s side, uneasy smile on his lips. There was no reason for this man to be so nervous. Keith knew that. This woman was his mother, but he was the apparent leader of Voltron, and somehow, he’d won Lance’s heart.
“We need to wait it out, I’m afraid.” Krolia said, shaking her head. “Give him new memories, hope they jog old ones. I have no magical fix, I am sorry.” She shot Keith a saddened smile. “You are around the best people for the job.”
Keith watched, listened to her voice. This was his mother. The woman who’d left him as a baby. Apparently because she was trying to fight an entire war. A war he was now fighting. But this was his mother. He needed to talk to her.
Lance, who was the most observant man ever, smiled. “Hey, Hunk, bet I could make better cookies.” And he dragged the team out, leaving Keith alone with his mother.
“Hi.”
He didn’t know what to say. How to act. He didn’t know who this woman was. She was his mother, but what did that mean? He’d never had a mother before.
“Hello, son. I am glad you are alive and safe. That omega of yours would never let you be otherwise.”
Keith’s mind shot him an image of a winning smile, eyes crinkled and glowing. “He’s – I wish I could remember him.”
Krolia took a step towards him, her eyes soft and kind. “You will. Your brain needs time to heal.”
“And if I don’t? what will happen to the team, to Lance? He doesn’t deserve any of this.”
Something softened in her expression, a hand moving to Keith’s shoulder. “No, but that boy loves you. He’ll wait for you.”
“He shouldn’t have to.” Keith said, fingers clenching. He glared at the clean floor. “This shouldn’t have happened. All I know is – I don’t know any of them. I don’t know who I am anymore. I just want to know who I am.”
Krolia sat beside her son, her hand retracting, but her presence was more then enough. She was warm and solid, she was real. “You are Keith, the leader of Voltron. You’re going to save the universe. It’s ok that you don’t remember, it’s ok if you never do. You’re still you. Everything that makes you important and special is still there.”
He looked down at his hands. Unknown scars littered them. “Am I? Lance looks at me sometimes like he – like he thinks I’m going to remember and then leave him, you know? Is that who I am?”
Krolia hummed, the sound a low vibration in her chest. Comforting. “That boy is a wonder, but he loves you. He’s just scared to lose you. I’m fairly certain he thinks I don’t like him.”
“He did mention being afraid of you.”
She rolled her eyes. “Silly little omega. But, I cannot change that for him, just as I cannot bring your memories back. Make new ones, Keith. Live as you want to. I know you, my son. I trust you.”
“How do I lead a team? Can I even fly my lion?”
“Trust your team, and yourself. I believe in you.”
Keith looked down. He just wanted to remember. He needed to know.
And then, the distress call. That which they’d been avoiding, happened. Keith watched the team leave, watched from the black lion’s hanger. The lion watched him.
Particle barrier up, Keith could do nothing but watch, listen to his team as they fought. Lance, taking control of the situation, calling the shots. Keith felt so much pride in his chest. That was his mate, even if he didn’t remember.
The lion watched him. Stared at him. Keith hadn’t come to see the lion, not once. He was concerned it might freeze him out, that he wasn’t worthy anymore.
But, there was something about the lion. Something familiar. He stared at the yellow eyes. He could hear the team, they needed him. He could hear Lance, struggling against a rogue shot. Hunk calling out for backup. Allura getting knocked. Pidge trying to shield the castle.
Keith heard them scream as a blast knocked them back.
“Please, you have to let me help them.”
Black stayed resolutely silent.
And then, Lance screamed. Called for backup.
Something snapped in Keith and he glared at the lion. “If you don’t open up right now, I will never let Lance wash you again.”
And just like that, the particle barrier fell. The lion opened his jaws.
Keith walked right on in, putting himself in the paladin chair. He grabbed the controls, flew them to the battle. He found the red lion immediately and cleared the threats from him.
“Keith?” Pidge’s concern, her surprise, was poorly hidden.
“Present,” he snapped, taking a hit. Black roared. “Voltron?”
The team all cheered.
The battle was swift after that. Keith felt only pride, looking over at his team. His family. He smiled.
“So, that was crazy, right?” Hunk said as they finally landed, no injuries to be found.
Lance watched Keith curiously. Keith always knew this omega could see through him. He’d always been able to.
“Good work, guys,” Keith said.
“Hey, you too! That was so cool. Muscle memory is epic.” Hunk said.
Keith frowned. Then, he blinked. “No – it…” he turned around, glaring at his lion. “You could have helped ages ago, you know.”
The lion remained silent.
Lance looked far too small, standing too far away.
“You remember?” Pidge asked.
“Yeah, I was hit on Vlantis. Lance would’ve died. I couldn’t let that happen.” He flinched at the memory. felt the love that was so close to the surface threaten to bubble. Lance. How could he have forgotten Lance?
He ignored the ache in his chest. He’d forgotten his own mate.
The team watched Keith, congratulated him for getting his memories back, then left the alpha alone with his omega.
“Lance,” Keith said, voice soft. “Penny for your thoughts?” his fingers ached to reach forwards. His legs wanted to run to him.
The omega bit his lip. “I’m glad you’re back.”
He was too. He wasn’t confused. He knew exactly who he was. He knew what he had to do. He knew how to fight, how to love. He remembered it all. Remembered Lance looking so pale, so scared. He remembered waking and feeling so confused, so afraid. He remembered it all.
But, he was himself. Black had restored his memories. Or perhaps, that had been the adrenaline. The thought of losing his team. Lance.
He knew his omega too well.
He took a step forwards, seeing Lance’s eyes widen, his scent spiking. Concern, fear, Lance was worried. But Keith would never leave this man. He would never. Lance was far too good for him. he could never leave him. something would have to go so wrong for that to happen.
“Lance,” he said, tone low, voice soft. He reached out, claiming Lance’s fingers to his own. The soft skin, the smoothness, this was his. “Lance, you have to know, there’s no universe where I don’t want you at my side. Even with no memories, I know my heart beats for you.”
The omega watched, mouth falling open. “But..”
“No,” he pressed close, seeking the warmth. “No, Lance. Mine. You’re mine.” He pushed a soft finger to the bond bite on Lance’s neck, relishing in the soft whine Lance released. He was so full of warmth, so full of love. “This shows you’re mine. Did it lose strength?”
Lance froze. “What?”
“Your mark. Did it fade?”
The omega paused. “No.”
“Because I know I loved you, even if that was the only think I knew. I don’t care that you’re an omega, or a loudmouth, or whatever else you are. Get those thoughts from your pretty little head, because you’re all mine.”
And finally, a real smile graced Lance’s beautiful lips. He hummed, collapsing forwards into Keith’s body. “I’m so glad you’re back.”
“I would’ve fallen for you all over again, Lance.”
The omega preened into Keith’s chest and the alpha couldn’t resist sealing his lips over Lance’s bond bite. He felt the omega sag, boneless in his arms. This was where he belonged. Even if he lost his memories again, he knew the love he felt wouldn’t ever fade.
“Yours,” Lance finally whispered, claiming Keith’s lips with his own.
