Summary
After the crew's return to Earth, (former) Colonel Warren Kepler was the one who met the worst fate: a life sentence of solitary confinement in the world's most secure penitentiary. After twelve years, executing the war criminal who helped save humanity is unpopular, but letting him walk free is out of the question.
The compromise is simple: ship him to the edge of known space and put him to work as part of Goddard Futuristics's colonization efforts.
