Summary
If it were safer, I would have kissed you in the daylight.
East Berlin, 1964.
Warren Kepler, dutiful Stasi officer, lives in the static—recording dissidents, obeying orders, trying not to feel too much. Gray rooms. Gray rules. A life half-lived.
Then he hears the voice.
Doug Eiffel, brash American spy and pirate broadcaster, slips through the airwaves with jazz, sedition, and laughter wrapped in smoke. He’s everything Warren shouldn’t want—and everything Warren can’t stop needing.
What begins as surveillance becomes obsession.
Obsession becomes contact.
Contact becomes something far more dangerous.Across a city built on silence, two men risk everything for the sound of each other’s breath.

Summary
“You need me to spell it out for you? Okay. Fine. I hate you. I –” The metal bar digs into his fingers. He squeezes harder. “I should have left you to die. I wish I had, because I will never forgive you. Once we’re back on Earth, I don’t ever want to see you again, if I can help it.”
The survivors return to Earth, where staying away from Kepler proves harder than Jacobi thought.

Summary
“– caused substantial damage to the Golden Gate Bridge”, the news anchor says. “The police have revealed that the suspected terrorist, one Daniel Jacobi, 29, was fatally injured at the scene.”
The smoking bridge is replaced by a picture of a young man with a burn scar splayed over his cheek. Warren can’t breathe. The news anchor is still talking, but the words blur into meaningless nonsense, washing over him as he stares at the photo, his chest so tight it hurts.
Loosening his tie, he scrambles through his memories for any hint of having met this Daniel Jacobi. There is none. The guy is a total stranger to him. So why the hell does his death feel like he’s being ripped apart from the inside out?Of course Cutter found out about the fireworks. He wants to have a little chat about it, and chooses a... creative way to get his point across.

Summary
“Wait, Kepler—!” Jacobi lunged for him, throwing his arms around the other man’s waist and pulling tight until his chest was flush against Kepler’s back. “This is stupid!”
Kepler was patient. He halted, shooting a glance over his shoulder. “What is?”
“This—this whole plan! There’s gotta be a thousand better ways to get intel that don’t involve sticking your dick in random people!”
“The targets aren’t random, Jacobi. They’re—”
“Rich and prestigious assholes that know a bunch of company secrets—yeah, I get it. You know what I mean.”

Summary
“If you want to back me off, calling me 'sir' isn't the way, Mr. Jacobi.” There was a predatory glint in Kepler's eyes that made Jacobi want to sink to his knees. “I already know you're good at taking orders.”
---
Episode tag to No Complaints, because the fake stakeout was DEFINITELY a hint along the lines of 'I followed you for days, and yes, I saw you take that guy home'.
Plus: manspreading, height differences, and is Kepler *really* going to talk the whole way through sex?

Summary
Eiffel has little purpose in life besides being a living incubator for Dr. Hilbert’s favorite virus and spending his days going through elaborate tests or staring at the ceiling. That is, until he meets Warren Kepler, and a chance to do something more is provided to him by joining Kepler alongside Jacobi and Maxwell on a series of missions. Can he prove that he’s worth more than an experimental sample? Can he live up to the rising expectations to do so? And when morality is on the line, what matters more- doing what’s right, or staying by the only people he has left?

Summary
Some general misadventures of the Hephaestus crew when they're NOT immediately at each other's throats (and sometimes when they are), a lot of exploring some dynamics and fleshing some out we didn't get to see as much of.
Here: Hilbert and Maxwell grapple with what it means to be a doctor, meanwhile Kepler's grandstanding starts to wear on the nerves of one of them until things come to a head. Plus, Doctor Popinksi, shovels in grubby little hands, Colonel Sanders, puppy dog sentimentality, and a PhD in recognizing sarcasm.

Summary
Jacobi took a shaky breath, his hands resting on Kepler’s now bare chest. “Yeah, just… can we— can we pretend like this is the first time?”
Kepler kissed behind his ear and swayed with him for a moment. “I would like that.
“What would you have said to me if you really had wanted to take me home in that bar when we met?” Jacobi murmured, hooking his fingers into Kepler’s waistband. “What would you have done?”
“Ah. Well I wouldn’t have taken you home from that bar on that day. It was 3pm and you were very drunk.”
“Okay, a different bar. Any bar.”
Kepler frowned slightly. “I don’t want you to be a stranger; I want you to be–... We can still make this the first time that counts.”AKA after the events of The Channel Fades to Snow, they figure out how to be together again.

Summary
The pistol’s a Browning Hi-Power with a wooden grip. Kepler’s index finger sits comfortably on the trigger, and Jacobi would never admit it, but the Colonel is sinfully attractive when he wields it. It’s an old-style weapon, eighties, and Jacobi’s spent hours of their collective lives needling him about getting a gun from the current century.
Kepler refuses every time. He’s principled that way.
“It gets the job done, doesn’t it?” Kepler asks.

Summary
Jacobi and Maxwell tried their hardest to wriggle out of the office Christmas party but, to their dismay, Kepler isn't as stupid as they would like.
The added complication is that Jacobi is down pretty bad for his commanding officer and it's getting increasingly more difficult for them to keep it out of the office.
Takes place immediately after 'Happy Holidays'.

Summary
Goddard Futuristics had been content to let their research into the pit die when it did; but as they've come to discover, the pit's not as dead as they thought. Now, SI-5 is tasked with a close-to-impossible mission- that being, to go into the pit, get what Goddard left, and get out alive.
However, that's not without it's challenges. Not only is the pit overrun with operatives from a rival company, conducting their own research- it's also teeming with flora and fauna that haven't been managed by park rangers in years. The question remains this: will Kepler, Jacobi, and Maxwell succeed in their mission? Or will the remains of the Mystery Flesh Pit National Park take that chance from them?
