The Presidential Life

Summary:

When 20-year-old secretarial worker Alice starts her new job in the year 2030, she expects a typical politician. Instead, she is shocked to discover the new world leader is Jerry Sawant—a dapper, sophisticated, talking dog wearing a top hat and a suit! What starts as a normal office job quickly turns into a wild, global sci-fi adventure. Alongside her chaotic coworker Mark (who may or may not have a stolen magic pocket from a certain anime cat) and Jerry's sister Sarah, the team flies from Goa to Tokyo, all the way to a mysterious hollow-earth bug metropolis in Antarctica. Can President Jerry negotiate global peace with an army of giant insects, or will they have to escape on a scooter?

Notes:

I wrote this story together with my bestie when we were 13. Jerry is based on her favourite dog , and most of the animals in this story are her beloved pets who recently passed away. This story is dedicated as a loving tribute to them. ❤️
Also a quick heads up; I am currently preparing for my Board Exams. So the updates will be slow and random. I have no fixed schedule. And do feel free to leave a comment I would love to read your views and opinions

Chapter Text

Many years ago when I was 20 years old in 2030, a rather unusual thing took place. It all started on 26th February a normal day at work (I work as the president's secretary) the garden was filled with cheerful blooms which sawyed lightly in the wind. I was called to welcome the president and show him around.

The car drove into the parking lot surrounded by police cars. I didn't know who the new president was. I was really hoping he or she would be kind-hearted, understanding, and have a good sense of leadership, and would work for the better of our nation.

The back seat door was opened by the chauffeur and out stepped... a dog! At first, I thought the president was a dog lover, but as soon as the dog stepped out onto the red carpet, the car drove away. The dog was dressed like any gentleman—wearing a bow tie, a suit, and a top hat.

I stepped forward and offered him a bouquet of flowers. He stood up on his hind legs and received it. He looked quite adorable standing on his hind legs, but I was still puzzled. How was he going to become president? How will I understand him? And who is he? These questions kept bothering me.

I pushed all these doubts aside, turned to the dog, and said, "How do you do? I am Alice, and I will be your secretary. If you ever need me, just call on me and I will be there. Now, let me escort you to your office."

The dog then did the most peculiar thing. He responded, "I am fine. My name is Jerry Sawant. I am delighted to make your acquaintance!"

I was flabbergasted! I stood there speechless for quite some time. I finally gave him a fake smile and said, "Um... Well, follow me to your office."

His office had some dog bones here and there, a laptop, an arm chair, and a office chair—(the kind that spins and has wheels underneath). Jerry, the new president, settled in quite nicely. I told him that if he needed anything, to call on Supriya, because my shift was over, and I left.

I didn't get much sleep that night. I tossed and turned a lot. I knew I was in for an extraordinary experience!
