Flash, (Chris Zylka age 18) and Peter (Tom Holland age 18), were always at odds, until Flash realized that Peter Parker was Spiderman, and his heart broke. Then, everyone simply forgot Peter Parker ever existed, except Flash. Knowing he was the only one that remembered, and knowing that Peter was more alone than anyone he'd ever seen, Flash decided to help Peter in any way he could.
Of course, life interfered with his perfect plan, and he found himself being helped by Peter, making him even more determined to be the support system Peter needed, regardless of the cost to himself, and especially his heart.
Flash certainly didn't plan to fall in love with Peter, but Flash also knew that loving Peter wasn't about him, it was about Peter, and giving Peter everything he needed that Flash could provide. He knew that Peter would one day reach out to M.J., as she was the love of his life. Flash accepted this, learning from the mistakes of his father, he simply, let it go, determined and refusing to be bitter, he built a foundation for Peter to rebuild himself upon.
