Chapter Text
"Victory."
All the Crewmates get a Victory screen, except for the two Impostors.
Thomas beamed in their chair as Willow grinned at Liam, seeming to have a rather defeated expression on their face. Than looked at Sally, which was besides Liam and spectating on their view, who was patting them on the shoulder.
"Oh, you guys finished? Man, This may have been one of the longest rounds yet." Shawn said as they looked at the others. "You're surprised? Didn't you watch us finish the round, though?" Willow questioned, taking a peek at Shawns phone and noticing they didn't even have the game open anymore, but instead was playing chess online. "Yeeahhhh, I got bored 15 minutes ago after getting killed." Willow widened their eyes at that. "15 minutes?" They proceeded to look at the time on their phone, which showed "1:04 AM", and noticing that they've all been playing for an hour straight.
Chris sat up while stretching their back. "Well darn finally! My butt was startin' to feel sore." They said. Alex gently chuckled besides them. "Maybe you should've picked a better spot to lay down onto, rather than the floor?" Chris rolled their eyes. "Yeah yeah, I was right anyway, so I don't care." They said smugly, Jamie nudged them. "Oh, and Destiny, surprisingly." Destiny almost jumped in their seat. "I knew the atmosphere of the rocks were different!" "And without the help of everyone else as well." Willow chimed in.
"So, now?" Ben looked at Naomi. "Hm. Hey guys, are you up for some Pizza?" Naomi asked to the whole group, which pretty much all of them agreed on. All of them set their phones down as they continue with their day, nonetheless, this isn't their first time playing a game together.

Willow woke up to their phone buzzing, it being a 8:00 AM alarm in the morning for work. They got out of bed, then going to the bathroom to turn on the shower, brushing their teeth while waiting for the water to warm up. After finishing, they got a notification from their phone, Willow unlocked it and noticed it was a message from their group chat. All the people there were their friends, the message being from Thomas, reading:
Thomas: Heyy, do you guys have a spare 20 dollars?
Shawn: Why would you need 20 dollars??
Thomas: Forgot to take my money when I went out and I need to call an under to get to work
Willow squinted their eyes at Thomas's message, then they began to type a message themselves.
You: Why did you get up so early?
You: And don't you have money on your PayPal account?
Thomas: oh yeah
Willow: Wow genius now you woke up the others from sleeping for no reason.
(Replying to Willow) Chris: Bold of you to assume anyone was sleeping
(Replying to Willow) Destiny: I've had a 200 dollar commission yesterday, so I couldn't sleep, it really messed up my aura.
Willow, feeling rather embarrassed, closed their phone and went into the shower. 30 minutes later, they were outside, waiting for their bus, they'd usually meet up with either Sally or Jamie inside, usually they took the same route to work. Willow actually had a lot of jobs before, until working for MIRA HQ. There, instead of being like the actual game, with spaceships and all those things, (which seemed more interesting, to say the least) was mostly just sitting in front of a computer all day. Very exiting. Willow didn't exactly hate their job, but didn't LOVE it either, but no one really does, it was just the only thing keeping them from being homeless. Though, they had some of their friends texting them on a daily basis to make it more exiting, making the boss a little pissed, but it was worth it.
All of them had some sort of job, well... All of them except Shawn, of course. Sally and Thomas actually worked at the same place as them. Sally usually would check up on Willow most of the time to make sure their okay, while Thomas, being the favourite coworker, would not do much, but would chat with Willow a lot, in hopes that they don't develop crippling depression or get burned out overtime.
Liam wasn't really that rich, but they weren't struggling, at least that's what they had told them. They worked as a barista for a restaurant, which was suggested by Naomi. They got the farm life and worm jokes from their childhood, because their parents usually would make Liam work a lot at a farm they had. They'd go to work or back to their apartment on a bike, and while they could take a bus or Uber to get them home, they prefer going alone to relax their mind from talking to people. Naomi and Ben's jobs were actually very similar as in the game, working both at a restaurant, the same one where Liam was.
Chris usually helped people with broken equipments such as either washing machines, clogged sinks, you get the point. There's also a joke within their friend group where they'd call them "Luigi" because of their job, where Chris would always take to heart and get very pissed at, which could make it even funnier for some. One time one of them (Shawn) actually payed them to fix their toilet 'for the bit', and Chris couldn't even get mad at them that time, but more so impressed, and maybe a sprinkle of concern and confusion.
Alex was a nurse at a school near Naomi and Ben's restaurant, who (surprisingly) was actually good at their job. A lot of the students actually really liked going to them, enjoying how friendly they were, considering all the teachers at that school weren't exactly the nicest people on the planet. Heck, one of them even almost killed Alex, but that's a story for another time, is what Alex says, they've never revealed the whole story, for some reason. One time Alex had a parent who genuinely tried to flirt with them, that quickly resolved into a big drama around the two parents, who nonetheless were married. Alex enjoyed their job, but not fully, considering how much drama one school can cause, but they're content with it, just as everyone else.
Destiny and Jamie both lived in the same apartment, both of them working two separate jobs. Destiny was an artist and managed their money from commissions, usually skipping the rather... Questionable requests.. They were free to draw (almost) anything. Jamie worked as a tutor for geography for students who didn't listen in class and just slept through the whole thing, or for young adults who wanted to pursue in geography for college. Both of them would get the same amount of money and weren't struggling much.
As for Shawn, they were basically living in luxury, to say the least.
6:02 PM
Willow had finally arrived home, dropping their bags, putting on some slippers, and instantly putting themselves into some more comfortable clothing. While lying in bed, watching a random TV show, they've received a message.
Liam: Are you guys free right now? we should play something
Alex: I'm free, I was also looking forward to hanging out.
Sally: I'd play but one of my cats is on my lap right now..
Willow giggled at Sally's message.
You: aw, can't you just put them down?
Sally: nooo!!! She's so cute
(Replying to Willow) Destiny: I heard it can mess up with their chakras, I'd rather not
Jamie: oh wow, even animals have those?
(Replying to Destiny) Chris: wtf what is that
Jamie: long story
Chris: Ok whatever than, are we gonna play or not?
After 10 minutes of discussion, Ben has made a poll, and decided to pick out the game to play. Sally and Liam have suggested on playing Among Us once again, totally not to get their revenge, and the others didn't have any other better suggestions, so they sticked with the same game.

"I'M TELLING YOU DUDE IT'S CHRIS." Shawn was practically yelling through the mic while talking to Naomi, who, funny enough, suspected them. There were only 4 of them left. "Okay and you got any proof? And it still doesn't explain how your ass managed to do a task, without the task bar going up." They spitted.
"We have 30 more seconds, I'd say to vote already." Sally said. "I'm going with Shawn. Their voice is all I've heard this round." Shawn stayed silent, which usually meant that their either pissed or just accepting defeat.
"Couldn't agree more, Shawn" Naomi's voice could be heard. The votes were: Yellow - 0, Orange - 0, Lime - 1 (White), White - 3 (Lime, Orange, Yellow.) The timer went to 10 seconds, 5 seconds..
White was Not An Imposter.
All of them paused, Chris was the first to be heard after the meeting. "How does that.. Didn't they fake a task and kill someone?"
"Shit, I forgot they added shapeshifters." Naomi said, their avatar moving closer to Sally's.
"Okayy.. But that still doesn't explain the task faking?" Before they could say anything further, they've been instantly killed by Naomi.
"Defeat" got showed to all of them, besides Naomi and Jamie.
"WAIT HOW DOES THAT WORK THOUGH??" Chris practically almost broke the sound barrier. "IT WAS A TWO WAY TASK. I DIDN'T SEE THE YELLOW SIGN AND THOUGHT I FINISHED IT" Shawn replied.
More conversations, a little bit of harmless fighting, and they ended the call. Willow checked their group chat one more time.
Jamie: gg
Willow playfully rolled their eyes instinctively.
You: Oh gg my ass
You: I was the first one to get killed by you and had to sit through the whole round
Naomi: sorry not sorry
Alex: It was fun playing, I'll go now.
Alex: Bye!
Jamie: bye
Willow: Bye
They put their phone down and looked at the ceiling while standing on their bed. Willow really enjoyed hanging out with their group, they were always fun to spend hours with.
Maybe they'll get 'em next time.
