Summary:

"Midoriya, you're assigned to play as the main villain, Vex."

The whole class jaw drops at the sudden announcement.

The innocent looking, green eyed person with dark green curly hair and freckles on his face, is playing the annoying, merciless, calculative, and the most manipulative villain?

What was Nedzu's thinking?

Notes:

The war will not happen, and AFO is dead because of a certain someone, meaning, the LoV is slowly changing, turning into a good person. Wow

On the other hand, Nedzu is thinking about the mysterious person—Midoriya Izuku.

So, he encourages some students to participate in the play, "The Heroes and the Villains", a novel written by someone.

Chapter Text

Aizawa slams the classroom door open with a tired look, getting the attention of the students present.

He walked up at his desk, and also slams the papers he's holding onto the desk. He glares at the students to shut up. "Quiet." Aizawa's quirk activated.

Class 1-A automatically zipped their mouths and returned to their seats.

Aizawa deactivated his quirk. He sighs.

"I have an announcement."

The students mentally prayed that the announcement must be a normal school related activity.

"There's a school play happening in 4 weeks."

They all cheered!

"A totally normal thing that happens in highschool!" Cried Kaminari.

Jirou laughs as she elbows Kaminari. She says, "This is a hero school. What did you expect?"

"Hero trainings! My body still remember the pain I received in our last training!.. That's why I'm glad that we're having a school play!"

"I'll be the background dancer, Aizawa-Sensei!" Mina volunteered, already showing her dancing skills.

"I'll be the tree." Whispered Shinsou.

The class erupted into chaos—shouting what roles they want, and showcasing their talents.

"Quiet."

They all returned to their seats obediently.

Aizawa continued, "The school play would not be played by one class only. First, second, and third years would work together to play the novel titled The Heroes and the Villains, by someone." Aizawa took another breath. "The rat already assigned some of you on your roles." He sounded disappointed at that part.

Aizawa's eyes landed on Izuku Midoriya, then dropped the news.

"Midoriya, you're assigned to play as the main villain, Vex."

The whole class jaw drops at the sudden announcement, including Izuku who was more shocked than them. Izuku then pointed to himself as he mutters, "M-me?..."

The innocent looking, green eyed person with dark green curly hair and freckles on his face, is playing the annoying, calculative, and the most manipulative villain?

What was Nedzu's thinking?

"But... But Sensei—"

"Ha? Deku can't be the shitty villain! That nerd get flustered easily!" Barked Katsuki Bakugou. "Just saying that he's good at acting makes him blush! He can't act like the mighty Vex."

"I... I—um..."

Tenya Iida raised his hand, in a robotic way. "Aizawa-Sensei! I agree with Bakugou—but I'm against in his way of wordings." Bakugou glared at four-eyes.

"No disrespect to Nedzu-San's decision, but can we know why Midoriya was assigned to Vex's role?" Tenya started doing the hands-like-a-robot. "Well — I'm sorry, Midoriya — Midoriya is the kind of person who's selfless, and the my-body-moves-on-its-own type of person. So, I personally, seems like some of our classmates agree with me, think that Midoriya doesn't fit to play as Vex."

Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose.

"I wish that Nedzu answered my question earlier so that I can answer your questions." Aizawa noticed Izuku nervously raised his hand. "Yes, Midoriya?"

"Aizawa-Sensei, I... I'll play as Vex!" Izuku announced.

The class gasps. Izuku can't play the main villain!... They thought.

Uraraka looks at him with a concerned look. "Deku-Kun, you sure?"

Izuku nods, hesitantly. "Yes? I—I think Nedzu-San sees some talent or something? In... Me? I think. And... And he wants to verify it by having me to act, the villain Vex?"

Hearing that, Shouto Todoroki's eyes lit up.

"Or," Shouto Todoroki spoke, "Nedzu-San hates Midoriya and he wants him to suffer by giving Midoriya a role that he knows Midoriya can't act so that Midoriya will be a laughingstock by the whole school."

The class went silent. Just.. how? How did Todoroki came up with that theory?

"The hell, half 'n half?!" Yelled Bakugou.

"Bakugou! Language! And Todoroki, Nedzu-San doesn't hate Midoriya!" Explained Iida with his hands doing robot-like.

"I love Todoroki's theories." Laughs Shinsou.

The rest of the class also laughs.

Well, except for one.

Aizawa told the others their roles, and already handed out the script for the play. He says that the Big 3 will be the main characters, that they would act together. So, later, when Midnight arrive, they will be going to the general studies theater to start practicing along with the other students.

They all nodded and starts reading and re-acting their lines.

Aizawa already putted on his yellow sleeping bag, when he saw something on the corner of his eyes.

Izuku's smile, was somewhat eerie. Not the usual smile he always wore.

Izuku glanced, noticing Aizawa staring, so he decided to smile at him. It send chills on Aizawa.

Teenagers nowadays. So weird. He brushed it off.

Nedzu were watching the whole time through the vent connecting his office to the Class 1-A. Listening and observing.

He noticed how fast Izuku change his facial expressions when no one is looking, how Izuku always glares at the vent he's hiding, and the way Izuku smiles at the script.

Nedzu finds Izuku Midoriya as an interesting person. Mainly amused by the number of personalities (identities, but he doesn't have enough proof yet) he have.

Nedzu already tried digging information about Izuku, but it always ended up having an error on the screen of his personal laptop.

Interesting. Is what he thought whenever it happens.

Before he left, he waved goodbye to Izuku, which Izuku waved back.

"Deku?" Uraraka turns to the direction where Izuku waved. Seeing no one, or anything suspicious, "Who are you waving at?" She asked, confuse.

"O-oh... Uraraka! I—um... There's a fly flying in... Infront of me! Yeah—a fly."

He waved his hand again, saying shoo! Shoo!

The classroom door burst open, grabbing the students attention and Aizawa didn't even bother looking.

"Good morning, Class 1-A! It's Midnight-Sensei!"

Along with, "And we are the Big 3!"

Behind the two third years, there's Amajiki Tamaki, whispering "I want to go home... Can I go home?..."

"Amajiki! I promise you, this would be fun!" Reassured Nejire.

The 3 third years entered the room after Midnight-Sensei. Midnight-Sensei positioned herself in front with her hands on her hip.

She exclaimed, "Class 1-A! Are you all excited for the play?"

The class cheered.

"Well then," Midnight-Sensei licked her lips, "let's not waste any more time! Stand, and form two lines outside! We're going to the general studies theater!"

The class did formed a line.

"Aw man! I'm excited!" Commented Ejirou Kirishima.

Mirio laughs as he patted Kirishima's shoulder. "Hahaha! I like that spirit!" He turned to the nervous Tamaki and cheered him up, "Tamaki! You can do it!"

"I... Mirio—they're all potatoes—I can't..."

Thankfully, Nejire is at his side for comfort. "What Mirio said! You can do it!"

They continued chatting until they arrive at their destination. Izuku looked around, like looking for someone, or something.

The first one to spoke is from class 1-B, Neito Monoma.

"Well, well, well—it's the class 1-A!—"

Before he could start a fight, Kendo already knocked him out. "Sorry 'bout that." Kendo apologized on behalf of the unconscious Monoma.

All class heard a, "Good morning, Lil' Listeners!" It's Present Mic on the stage with Eri on his side. "Can I get a yeaaaahh?" The crowds have been pump up, shouting yeaaaahhh!

Eri seems like she's looking for someone. When she made eye contact with Izuku, "Izu-nii!" Her gaze landed on someone beside Izuku. "And Mirio-san!" she loosened her grip on Mic's hand to ran to the two.

"Hello, Eri-chan." Greeted Izuku with a smile and is lowering his height to match Eri who hugged him.

Eri stopped hugging Izuku. With beaming red eyes and sweet smile,  "Izu-nii! Present Mic-san told me that UA would do a?..." Eri tilted her head to the side. "What is it called again?..."

"A play!" Mirio happily replied. "A play is where people re-act the story other people writes! It's fun!"

Eri's smile returned. She turned her head to Izuku, "A play! Present Mic-san told me that UA would do a play! Izu-nii! What—uh... What kind of people Izu-nii would play?" She curiously asked, red eyes still beaming and smile that can blind.

Izuku looks away for a moment. Wondering if he could just tell them, or keep it as a surprise.

Mirio perks up. He sat beside Izuku. "Midoriya... I just realized that you haven't told me your role on the play! While me, on the other hand, told the whole class!" He dramatically wiped his eyes as if there's tears.

Izuku let out a "Haha..." while scratching the back of his neck. "Um... You didn't ask?"

On the background, Present Mic started explaining the things they will be needing to do. And since there's only 4 weeks to prepare, they need to be serious. Almost forgot to mention, the play will be broadcast on Japan and other countries, after all, this is UA.

"And that's all, lil' listeners! And now, I'll start introducing the students with the important roles! Please come up on the stage to be recognize by your fellow actors!"

All students that were present cheered.

"On the supporting casts, may we have Nejire Hado, Amajiki Tamaki, Ochako Uraraka, Shouto Todoroki, Hitoshi Shinsou, and Neito Monoma—on stage, yo!"

The students mentioned went to the stage. Tamaki's back facing the crowds, Nejire constantly waving, Uraraka nervously standing on stage, Todoroki is keeping his neutral face, Shinsou feels like vomiting because of the hundreds stares, and Monoma who is laughing like crazy.

"Hear that, 1-A? I, Neito Monoma, is actually part of the supporting casts! Bow down to me, peasants! HAHAHA!"

Present Mic looks at him worriedly, "Um. Lil' listener, calm down?" Then turned to the crowd of students, "Now! It's time for the protagonist to shine! Toogata Mirio!"

Mirio excused himself to Izuku and Eri. He walked up to the stage as Eri started to cheer at him, saying "A hero!" beside Izuku.

Mirio stood at the stage with the supporting casts on the back—hands positioned on his hips. "Toogata Mirio will play as the protagonist of the novel, the Hero, Smile for... All?" Present Mic furrowed his brows. "Weird name... I didn't know that Principal Nedzu would keep the original version of that name. Oh, well—it's time to find out who is our main villain!"

"3!"

"2!"

"1!"

"Izuku Midoriya from class 1-A! Please come on stage, lil' listener!"

Eri gasps. She glanced to Izuku.

Izuku hands out his hand to Eri. "Want to come with me to the stage, or you'll stay with Tsu-chan for a while?"

Eri looks at Tsu. Tsu noticed her, so she waved hi. "Um, I'll stay with Tsu-chan, Izu-nii!"

"Ok." Izuku smiles again at Eri before walking up to the stage.

The stares of the students were on him. So he started slowing down his pace and looks at the floor while walking.

He made it looks like that he did it unconsciously, when he really did it intentionally! He's really great actor!

The murmurs of the students grew louder.

"That's who will act the villain?"

"Wait. I thought the main villain from The Heroes and The Villain looks intimidating? Like, when you look at him, you will start shivering?"

"He looks more hero than an actual villain."

One student raised her hand. Present Mic saw her, and asked what she wants to say.

"Sensei, I've already read the original novel of The Heroes and The Villain 2 years ago. And from what I can remember, the main villain is Vex, cruel, calculative, and manipulative, that's his description—is much taller, not his height." She pointed at Izuku. "Since the original Hero name of the main hero is kept and the person who will act fits it's description, why not also keep the original version of the main villain?"

The other students nods at agreement.

"Um..." Izuku nervously raised his hand. Getting the attention of the students who were disagreeing about him having to act Vex. "Villains are not all intimidating, right? Some looks like an innocent civilian and normal persons. Principal Nedzu chose me, said our homeroom teacher, to portray that even innocent looking person can be a merciless villain..."

That hits Izuku. He just realized why. But as being watch by the crowds of students and teachers, aka Pro-Heroes, he can't run away. Izuku tried to maintain his nervous look.

His train of thoughts started running around his mind.

Wait—no—he won't reveal my identity, yet. Nedzu will... Nedzu will use that in his advantage. Now is not the right time to tell the whole school.

"-riya?" Mirio elbows Izuku on his shoulder. "You doin' good?" Asked Mirio.

Izuku snapped back to reality. "...Oh. Yes! I'm fine."

Present Mic had already calmed the crowd of students down.

The other students who got the background role, started arranging the stage where they will be acting. So, the rest were reading and re-acting their script. One of the students cried at her script because her character died. While others were having a second thoughts about their role of being a tree in the background, including Shinsou.

"I, Smile for All, will end you for good, Vex!" Shouted Mirio, pointing at Izuku with an expression of an angry hero.

"That's not very heroic, dear hero!" Shouted back Izuku with a wide grin.

Woah...

This caught some of the students and teachers attention. On the other hand, Principal Nedzu were watching the whole thing through the new CCTVs with a satisfied look. He was amazed by the performance of the two.

Mirio raised his eyebrows. He clapped, "Midoriya! That's so terrifying!" Encouraging others who saw Midoriya's performance clap as well.

Tamaki on Mirio's side lowered his head. "I... I'm scared... I want to go home..."

Nejire patted his back. She turned to Midoriya, "Gosh! Midoriya, did you got possessed by Vex? How did you raised your volume like that? And, and how did you manage to do the signature grin of Vex? Have you already read the novel of The Heroes and the Villains by someone?—"

"I think Midoriya is Vex's reincarnation." Interrupted Todoroki who's sitting on the floor, along with some of the class 1-A, 1-B, and 1-C, watching the practice minutes ago.

They all burst out laughing. While Nejire looks amazed by Todoroki's theory. "Midoriya, are you his reincarnation? Are you Midoriya, or Vex?"

Everyone was expecting Izuku to laugh at that question, but no. Izuku just shrugged and says, "Who knows? Maybe,               ." The last three words turns into a whisper, making it inaudible.

But the crowd didn't pay attention to it. They just showered Izuku with praises that he's good at acting Vex, like he's a natural at acting as a villain since he likes analyzing.

He smiles. Fools.

He knows that Nedzu is watching his every move, and he knows that he's bound to get find out.

Also, he knows deep down that Nedzu is going to use that against him.

That rat will likely use me as the substitute for his bots in chess. Realizing that, he mentally screamed. I ain't playing chess!

The practice went on until it hits lunch break.

All classes have 1 hour and 30 minutes to rest, before going back to their classrooms to start their next period.

Izuku, Iida, Uraraka, and Todoroki sat together on the cafeteria. They chatted about the play. Soon, their other classmates joined them.

"Oh! Midoriya!" Exclaimed Kaminari. "Earlier, I get chills everytime you read your lines! I even thought that you're a real villain!"

Kirishima and Mina nods in agreement. "Yeah! Bro, that's so scary!"

The others made a, "Yeah!", as Izuku chuckled. Amidst the chattering students, there's someone glaring at Izuku.

While walking back to their classrooms, Bakugou—who was suspiciously quiet throughout the entire time—grabs Izuku by his collar, shoving Izuku on a empty classroom.

Izuku's back met the impact of the solid wall. Ack!

"W—what is it, Kaccha—"

"Don't what me, nerd." Bakugou glares at Izuku. Izuku's eyes met his. He instantly knew what this is all about. "You been acting really weird, ever since Aizawa-sensei announced that you're going to play Vex role." Bakugou narrows his eyes.

Ah... This is getting interesting.

Izuku tried to stop himself from grinning. The word is tried.

"The hell you're grinning at? You think this is a joke?"

"A joke? Yes."

"H—ha?"

"I don't get it, Kacchan! Why are you worried? You're not the type of person to get worried about someone like me!" Izuku grabbed Bakugou's wrist that is holding him in his collar.

Before Bakugou could react 'bout what Izuku is doing, he wrapped his hand around it tightly.

I'm going to be in big trouble for what I'm about to do. But, he, of all people, finding out is a big problem.

Izuku looks straight at Bakugou's confuse eyes, "You did not have suspicions of me being a real villain. You did not grabbed me by the collar, separating me from our classmates, and shoves me to an empty classroom to confront me, am I right?"

Bakugou stares in a dazed, seconds before shaking his head aggressively. Mind going around after he stops.

Izuku removes his hand from Bakugou's wrist. "Now, Kacchan, let's go back to our classroom!" Bakugou nodded, as he followed Izuku with staggering steps.
