Tyler's mom dropped by his apartment with a box of items he never took with him to college and completely forgot about by the time he graduated.
He was planning to just stuff it in a closet or under his bed and forget about it again until he found himself with nothing better to do.
Now he sat on the floor, box between his legs as he made organized piles next to him of toys he could've sworn just disappeared into thin air and abandoned school supplies.
Then he pulled out his old ipad, "no way," he whispered to himself before trying to turn it on, only to be shown a dead battery alert to which he immediately stood up to find a charger that could fit the ipad's charging port.
After much success he let it charge for a while as he cleaned up the piles of some bullshit he knew he was going to either throw away or donate.
Around twenty minutes later, Tyler decided the device had been charged enough at a whopping 39%, so he brought it with him on the couch and turned it on.
He was nearly blinded by the bright screen showing a fuckass lock screen that made him strangely nostalgic. With the code being a simple 1234, he unlocked the device with no trouble at all.
Tyler went through all the apps, most of them being basic mobile games and apps you'd see on any apple device until he found Roblox. He hadn't played on Roblox since eighth grade and he couldn't lie that he was slightly very intrigued.
Once he updated the app, he opened it up to be met with a butt-load of odd games and his ridiculous avatar that he decided to pay no mind to and instead search for a game that interested him.
After scrolling through a bunch of random shit and role play games, he found a game called neighbors which had a speaker emoji along with 18+ in the title.
"Adults still play this?"
He shook his head at the thought while the game loaded.
-
The game disappointed him within only five minutes of playing after finding out the majority of online players were literal children and people who didn't speak english.
Tyler was about to give up and leave the game until he heard a silky smooth voice,
"hey."
"Uh- hi," Tyler responded, awkward as ever.
"T'sup, dude?"
"Not much, just found this shit on my old ipad and yeah."
"Awesome!"
"Roblox just told me to watch my language."
The guy huffed out a laugh, "yeah you can't really swear on here, unfortunately."
They chatted for quite a while and if Tyler had to be honest, this was the best conversation he's had in forever. He found out that his name is Josh and they share a love for music with Josh even being a drummer.
"We should make a band!"
"For sure!"
"Sorry if this is weird to ask but...where do you live?"
"You're good, bro," Josh affirmed with a chuckle, "Ohio! Born and raised!"
"No fucking way, dude! Me too!"
