If you don't know what this is, this is the second part of my warrior cats alternate universe where Redtail survives past the events of Into the Wild, leading to a lot of catastrophic changes to the series’ timeline. I totally recommend you read the first part of the story before reading this otherwise you’ll be very confused.
Back in my original plans I was hoping to adapt books 1-3 into a single work then books 4-6 in another one. But the more I started writing the events, the more and more ideas I’ve gotten and I decided to follow the same formula as the Graphic Novels adaption of the series, going through books 1-2, then 3-4 and finally books 5-6.
And back when I first started writing this series all I had planned for Forest of Secrets was the final battle at the end plus some chapters to develop characters that would not end up with more than 8 chapters…
Then I decided to re-read Forest of Secrets… Then my brain decided to work overtime. Now I have plans for more than 20 chapters ONLY for Forest of Secrets.
From filler that ends up with a big battle at the end, I now have planned an entire romance story, whatever Sandstorm is hiding will be explained here, so many plot points, I'll give more depth to Fireheart in Windclan…
Now I’ll have to change schedule again, with this work being exclusive for Forest of Secrets, the next work will be just for books 4-5 (because I highly doubt Rising Storm’s events will be longer than 10 chapters) and end up with The Darkest Hour also getting an exclusive work
A few other changes will include the fact I will no longer update weekly, and instead just upload the chapters once they're done with no specific schedule. Mostly because by the end of the last book I was feeling way too pressured to get the chapters done and that led me to rush them and not have a lot of fun while writing at that point. By releasing the chapters like this will probably be slower but with a higher quality as well (I would hope)
Don't worry those Oneshots I mentioned before will still exist and actually I have one of Redtail's apprentice days around halfway done, I just need the motivation to finish it.
And where am I regarding writing Forest of Secrets after around a month of hiatus?
I'm proud to announce that Chapter 1 is almost done! :D
I know that's basically nothing considering the fact I'll still also need to write a prologue, but again I had to rewrite a lot of points because of the changes and it's been a bit hard to find something that I think it's “good enough” to be finished
It was easy when I was only writing this to myself to pass the time during classes but now that I know there are actual people reading my stories that kinda pushes me to try aiming for perfection or at least the closest to it that I could get. And I can't tell if that is a good thing or not.
