   Summary

   Ten more minutes passed before Shiki finally FaceTimed him. Caelen answered before the second ring had even finished, worry written plainly across his face.
   "Hey, love, are you okay? You haven't arrived ye-"
   He stopped mid-sentence. On the screen was a very tired-looking Shiki, nose red, cheeks puffed, still tucked into bed.
   "No, dear," Shiki said, voice rough and hoarse. "Unfortunately, I can't make it to our date today."
   "Are you sick, Shiki?" Caelen asked, already fairly certain of the answer. His tail slowed from its anxious swaying, settling into something heavier, more concerned.
