The only reason Buck was being cheerful to the rest of the team was because shift would be over in about an hour. Every time they left a call Buck would check his watch to see if shift was on its way to the end. Buck was ready to go home.
‘Hey Buck, would you be able to help me with cleaning up the engine?’ fuck. Its Eddie, the reason he wants to get out of here as quickly as possible. ‘Yea, sure Eddie!’ Buck responded, he had no other choice.
Panic boiled inside of Buck’s blood. I need to stay calm, he said to himself. You see, the reason for all this commotion is the way Buck recently realized his feelings for Eddie. And being near him makes his feelings feel a lot more real than needed.
Buck stumbled toward the engine to help Eddie, but fuck does his pants always fit so nice around his ass? Buck stop thinking about that! Was the first thought after the image he just stumbled upon. ‘H-hey Eddie where did you need me?’ Buck stammered after a few seconds.
‘Oh, hey Buck could you please reach for this spot right there?’ Eddie points to a little fleck of dirt on the engine just above his reach. ‘You have like two inches on me so I thought maybe you could reach it for me.’ Buck looked at him with a dumbfounded look. ‘Please?’ Eddie asked him with a smug smile on his face.
‘Eddie are you being serious right now?’ Buck asks him, still feeling a bit mesmerized by the look on Eddies face. He snatches the cloth out of Eddie hands and reaches for the spot. It seems like Buck also can’t reach it, he stands on his tiptoes, but the spot is just a few inches from his reach. ‘Fuck, ask somebody else man.’ Buck tries to give the cloth back to Eddie but is in utter shock when he feels Eddie’s grabbing him by the middle.
Buck squeaks a little, his mouth falls open and he looks at Eddie like he’s just seen Ghostface in real life. ‘Eddie what are you doing!’ He asks as calm as possible, while his mind is doing a thousand of cartwheels. ‘Just helping you a little, stay calm man.’ Eddie says with a grin on his face. Okay so the keeping calm act didn’t work, Buck thinks thru the panic.
Buck forgets why he is tilted by Eddie while he is rethinking his life decisions of these last few minutes. ‘Uhh, hey man are you gonna clean that spot for me or not?’ Eddie calls out to him. ‘Oh y-yeah fuck sorry, ofcourse.’ He is able to stammer out before he brings the cloth to the fleck of dirt and cleans it with shaking hands.
Eddie puts him down and asks if he’s okay. ‘Yea ofcourse, why wouldn’t I be?’ Buck asks. ‘I don’t know. You seem shocked.’ Buck decides the best way to avoid this conversation is to just walk away. So, he walks his way to the locker rooms and changes into is clothes so he can go home as quick as possible.
Before he even gets the chance to get to his jeep he gets stopped by a hand on his shoulder. Eddie’s hand. ‘Hey, wanna hang out at mine tonight?’ Fuck fuck fuck, how can he deny that offer. ‘Uhm, sure! What time should I be there?’ He asks carefully. ‘You can follow me right home if you’d like.’ Even better. ‘Okay, I’ll be there.’
Buck’s mind is still spinning because of the recent event that just happened. Why did Eddie need to grab him by the waist like that? And how could he pick me up so easily. His mind begins to spin around itself while he is walking wobbly too his car.
The drive to Eddie’s house is about 20 minutes, when Buck reaches it Eddie’s car is already parked in front. The front door opens before Buck can even open the door of his car and he sees Eddie waiting for him on the doorstep.
Buck jumps out of the jeep and starts walking towards Eddie. When he reaches him Eddie steps aside so that Buck can pass the front door. Eddie follows behind him and closes the door. Buck automatically walks too the fridge and grabs two beers. The shift they had today ended at 5 o’clock in the afternoon so the beer was not a weird choice to pick, Buck thought. Once he grabbed the beers and walked back to the living room, Eddie was already waiting for him on the couch. ‘So should we order some Thai from that new place we wanted to try?’ ‘Yeah sure sounds great!’ Buck responded.
Once the Thai food arrived and they were sitting on the couch with food surrounding them Buck asked ‘Why did you tilt me up like that Eddie?’ It was a dumb question to make, Buck knew that. But he knows that if it will happen again, he will surely kiss Eddie on the mouth. And that is not supposed to happen. ‘I don’t know? I just thought it would be convenient so that you could reach the spot.’ Eddie responded.
‘Well it was really distracting.’ Buck responded before he could even think about what he just said. ‘Distracting?’ Eddie asked. Fuck. Well if I started I will just finish it, Buck thought. ‘Your hands on my waist, like damn Eddie your hands are big.’ While Buck was talking, Eddie just stared at him with his mouth falling open. But Buck continued talking. ‘Like man, it just makes me fantasize how that would feel in other types of situations.’ Buck realizes he has talked too much.
Eddie it now just staring at him in utter shock, but then Buck realizes Eddie’s pupils are blown wide and there is a deep shade of red crawling up his neck. So, he continues. ‘Eddie, I swear to God. Don’t look at me like that. You know how fast I can think of things in other ways than they were intended. What Buck does not expect is the sudden movement Eddie makes; he grabs Buck’s neck and pulls him close. Buck realizes what is happening and his mind explodes. A second later the other man’s lips are on Buck’s. Buck is too shocked to kiss right back. But when he realizes Eddie is questioning if he did the right thing. Buck is kissing back.
The kiss gets heated fast. Buck licks Eddie’s bottom lip, Eddie lets his fall open, and Buck slips his tongue inside of Eddie’s mouth. The kiss lasts until they both aren’t able to breathe anymore.
Their foreheads are pushed together while they are both breathing heavily. Buck decides to talk first. ‘Eddie, I know this is very fast to say but I have been in love with you for a long time now. I only realized a few weeks ago, but I have been for a long time.’ Eddie just looks at him and them kissed him again. Softer this time. Sweeter. ‘Me too Buck, me too.’ He finally says. Eddie had a big grin on his face; Buck is sure that his face looks very similar to Eddie’s at the moment.
After a lot of more kissing and cuddling they fall asleep together on the couch. With the Thai food still surrounding them. They will deal with that later. They both fall asleep and dream about each other that night.
