Omega was hard to read. Even harder than her twin, Vintage.
…at least that’s what the other half of X-blood (and well, kind of everyone) knew.
It was just a practice match, nothing much. Although both Vintage and Omega still took every match seriously (especially Vintage) so Red and Double couldn’t help but feel a little pity for the poor souls that had to be their opponents.
Whatever, though. Sometimes turf could be fun to play because it was just easy for them.
Red was touching up her light makeup in the changing room when a random green inkling with a visor on her sideswept tentacles and a navy tank top ended up next to her.
“Red Sole, right? From X-blood?”
Red gave one side glance at her for a milisecond before moving her eyes back to her hand mirror to continue re-applying her lip gloss. She made a confirming hum as she could see the inkling’s eyes lit up from her peripheral vision, albeit with a bit of mischief.
Just when she was going to guess the inkling was asking for an autograph or something, the inkling spoke.
“So I’m assuming Omega’s also here too? You guys have a match, right?”
Red closed her mirror with a snap as she looked at the inkling. “Yeah?”
“Perfect,” the inkling giggled as she fluttered her tint-manicured fingers at Red. “Thank you a lot!”
She left and Double entered the room right after to call her on the field.
The other team had a sniper. One that clearly looked like a rookie. So there was no way in hell they could take out anyone in X-blood.
But they did.
They splatted Omega.
The second captain of X-blood, skilled as much as Vintage, someone who’s cold and calculating, someone who’s used to PVPs with a sniper like Skull and won, got sniped by a rookie.
And the reason was the funniest thing ever Red could imagine. Hilarious to the point she and Double are gonna secretly gossip about it for the rest of their lives, probably.
Even Vintage was surprised to see Omega looking up at the bleachers to see a green inkling lady waving at her and blowing a big kiss.
And probably even more surprised when Omega’s whole face flushed at the green inkling, so much to the point she didn’t see the very obvious laser pointed right at her head.
After the match, Red kept on laughing with Double like a maniac as Straps (that was her name) hugged a too-flustered-to-function Omega.
