If we're to start, let's start at the beginning.
Almost twenty years ago, Vakhas Tiria cheated death.
The rumors are varied, and to be perfectly honest, you're not entirely certain how she did it, but the point remains: she was not present at her own execution, and no matter what the official story is, you know that she is not dead.
The difficulty then becomes, why has she come back now?
"I need someone," she says. "A few someones. I have reasons; I can pay. Do you believe in the cause?"
You were a kid when Vakhas Tiria was tried and executed - barely out of diapers. You believed when you were much, much younger - went through a phase where you'd thought maybe she was right. Now, though? Now you're older, arguably wiser (though there are several people who would protest, likely).
She leans across the bar, looking at you as she looks at Ersisa, like she isn't supposed to be dead, like this isn't madness, that the cause didn't die almost twenty years ago, when she did.
Ersisa looks at you.
Don't make me, you want to say, but no one's forcing you.
