"ayyy- let's keep this going!"
"come on, I can't hear you! louder! I know you guys can scream louder than that!"
"hell yeah! we'll be rocking 'til the sun goes down!"

Brendon closed out the end of Nine In The Afternoon and moved across the stage to grab his water bottle, panting to catch his breath. they were about halfway through tonight's show, and they were all having fun, laughing and joking between songs and crowd work. everyone on the stage and in the pit could feel the energy of the night, pulsing through the venue in a way that knocked everyone's heartbeats into the same rhythm, bringing an air of intimacy into the space, the band's energy mixed with adrenaline.
"Tonight, is a very special night-" Brendon takes a long chug of water from his plastic bottle before setting it down by Spencer's drum set.
"tonight, we are all in this together." he continues, crossing the stage, approaching Ryan's half of it.
"and that, is a very special thing. something most people take for granted." he leans heavily against Ryan's shoulder, Ryan looking over at him through his bangs like he's trying to figure out where Brendon is going with his drunken monologue.
"so I want you all to turn around- stop looking up here at me, turn around, and look at the person next to you. whether they're your best friend, your lover, a total stranger-"
he turns to Ryan for demonstration, a slightly crooked smile pulling at the corner of his lips as his free hand touches Ryan's cheek.
"-whoever they are, I want you to smile at them, and give them a big hug." he grins at Ryan, tilting his head like a puppy dog. his cheesiness was enough to make Ryan annoyed, but of course he didn't say anything, just shaking his head as he continues tuning his guitar for the next song.
"and then I want you to look deep into their eyes. don't say anything, just look." he continues his odd instructions, atumbling slightly on his feet as he tries to hold back his laughter, looking into Ryan's eyes.
"then I want you to give then a kiss. right on the cheek, just-" he presses a quick kiss onto Ryan's cheek, grinning as teh crowd errupts into expected cheers and screams. he quickly pulls away, grinning ear to ear as he marches back to his place on the stage like the showman he is, queuing himself up for another song.
