Work Text:

Wednesday didn’t normally let things get this heated. In fact, she never did, not once in her lifetime.

Not once in her lifetime had she ever been on top of a boy peppering kisses across his face,
Not once in her lifetime had she ever been willingly sighing as a boy kissed her back,
Not once in her lifetime had she ever been hugging a boy whilst biting at his neck,
Not once in her lifetime had she ever expected to enjoy it this much.

It was a terrifying realization, but as Tyler’s large hands slid beneath the hem of her black jumper, mapping the warm curve of her waist desperately, Wednesday found she didn't care about the loss of her composure. She was completely intoxicated by him- how a creature capable of so much violence could hold her as if she were so fragile, his breath hitching every time her teeth scraped against him.

She shifted her weight, her bare knees digging into the mattress on either side of his hips, pinning him down as she sank lower against his chest. Tyler barely signed as Wednesday breathed in his perfect scent.

They were so completely engulfed in the friction of their tangled limbs and the dizzying heat building between them that the sudden, violent click of the door handle barely registered. Then, the door swung open, and Enid burst into the room, mid-sentence: "Wednesday, you will not believe what Yoko just told me about-”

Enid stopped dead in her tracks, her jaw dropping more than it had at any piece of gossip she had ever heard in her entire life. Her best friend was currently straddling the sheriff’s son in a tangle of black blankets, her lips visibly flushed and Tyler's hands sliding out from under her clothes.

Enid, who always had words spewing out of her, was suddenly absent of any words at all. If it were anyone else, she would have simply giggled and left them alone. But Wednesday?! Her best friend Wednesday?! The same Wednesday who treated physical touch like some sort of disease?

The same girl who looked like she wanted to murder Enid every time she asked for a high-five was currently wrapped around Tyler Galpin like a koala! And oh god, Tyler’s hands. Enid’s brain practically short-circuited. She was witnessing an actual, real-life, honest-to-god romantic moment in Wednesday’s side of the room. Enid wanted to die happy. Partly because she was happy for her friend, but mostly because she knew she could tease Wednesday about this for as long as she lived, and Wednesday wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.

When Enid snapped out of her internal rambling, she realised that she would now have to face dire consequences for even coming near them. She was almost scared to look back at them, knowing Wednesday would give her a terrifying glare, or worse, stare at her blankly and make Enid wait for revenge.

When Enid turned back around, she wanted to melt even more. Wednesday’s dry composure completely shattered. Instead of launching into her usual threats or glares, the sheer mortification made her do something entirely out of character: she lost her nerve. With a tiny, uncharacteristic intake of breath, she buried her face straight into the crook of Tyler’s neck, hiding her burning, crimson cheeks against his warm skin. Her small hands tightly bunched up the fabric of his shirt, clinging to him as if she were trying to fade right into his chest and simply disappear.

Tyler’s heart leaped into his throat, completely captivated by how soft and needy she became in that exact moment. Acting on pure instinct to protect her privacy, he shifted his weight, rolling over just enough so he could partially block Wednesday from Enid's view. With his large hands, he looped the heavy black duvet right over her head, tucking her securely into a dark, safe cocoon against him.

With Wednesday completely hidden now, Tyler looked over his shoulder at Enid. His own cheeks were still a little flushed from the heat of moments before, but as he caught Enid’s wide, shell-shocked eyes, a slow, knowing grin broke across his face.

Across the room, Enid looked at Tyler’s dazed, happy expression, and then at the massive, suspicious lump of black blankets clinging desperately to his chest. The absolute absurdity of it hit her. This was Wednesday Addams, and right now, she was hiding under a blanket against a boy's chest. Enid’s initial panic melted into a matching, ecstatic grin. They both knew Wednesday too well, and the sheer sweetness of this was impossible to just ignore.

From deep beneath the heavy layers of the duvet, Wednesday finally talked. She was muffled and seething with embarasment, but still entirely breathless against Tyler's collarbone. "If either of you breathes a single syllable, I will ensure your deaths are slow and agonizing."

Hearing her typical threat coming from a blanket fort only made Tyler’s grin widen. He looked at Enid and gave her a flustered nod toward the hallway. He did it to simply save her, for they both knew Wednesday took her threats seriously.

Enid held up her hands in mock surrender, her eyes sparkling with a lifetime's worth of future teasing material. "Message received! Going! Scurrying away!" she whispered loudly, entirely thrilled. She backed out of the room, giving Tyler a supportive thumbs-up before softly clicking the door shut behind her, leaving the two of them alone in the quiet warmth of the room again.
