Chapter Text

Mob didn’t really play much in his minecraft world since Verity ‘killed’ Twixxel… even later that day he heard in the news that Twixxel got found unconscious in front of his laptop with his screen only showing red. Nobody understands what happened since his body doesn't show any way he can have gone unconscious. Mob didn’t have the strength to tell the cops, I mean what was he supposed to say anyway? A yellow ball ate him like he was only a piece of meat? Mob didn’t move from his bed since that day, he looked at his phone to try to change his mind about everything.

Then he heard a knock at his bedroom door. He didn’t even look up. His mom says she was going to visit his home to be sure he is eating. Which he doesn't really want to do, he still feels guilty about Twixxel death. The knock got stronger with that little tic his mom had each time she got angry. Mob sighs and gets up and walks to his door to open it. His eyes move to his mom who has her first on her hips. “Max, You have to eat! I know your friend's death affects you a lot, dear, but you need to eat something.”

Mob softens at hearing his real name, as if it separates him from the minecraft skin from the game that has to live with Verity but he doesn't like the fact people already call Twixxel dead. He only nodded at his mother to go into his kitchen to take something to eat, he didn’t want something big so he only took some toast with nutella. He sits at his table to eat and talks with his mother, talking about her job and his Youtube channel. Everything was finally calm for Mob, a good hour of pure happiness with his mother, almost forgetting about the reason he was sad. When his mother left, Mob was left alone again, but this time he knew he still had his family. He went this time in his living room to lay down and look at his TV to listen to some interesting show. After the third show, he got tired, his eyes started to droop, he didn’t sleep well for the last few days so he was pretty tired. He let himself sleep.

****

When Mod woke, he saw he was not in his living room but in a fully black room with no place to move. He looks around the room to try to find what he can do but there is nothing. He gets up before starting to walk around. Nothing happens and he has to feeling to not moving at all. Then he heard a big scream behind him. Mob chooses to run fast, the fastest he can but the scream just seems to get closer, when he looks behind him, he sees the face of Verity’s monster form with his mouth open to show a part of Twixxel’s head. Mob freezes as Verity’s face seems to float on top of him. Mob tries to move but his body chooses to not cooperate with him anymore. The monster closes his mouth before it opens again to show his mouth now empty before saying.  “Mob, come back to me. You don’t really want to leave me behind, do you? We are better alone”

Mob was about to scream when he woke up with sweat on his face, his breath was trembling, he looked around him, trembling. “This was just a dream… a really bad dream but still a dream.” He looked at the time. It was 11: 30 pm… pretty late but he didn't really want to sleep anymore. He goes to his room and his eyes move to his PC. He wasn't sure what to do until he opened his PC again to see that.. Minecraft is already open? That's weird. He clicked on it to open the page to see he is already in game, in his house. Which is weird since he remembers to have logged out in Twixxel’s secret hideout with all the books. He moved his mouth to look around the house to notice he can’t see Verity anywhere. He looks on his desk for his headphones to maybe be able to hear him but he can’t find his headphones, he always left them either on his screen, on the table or in a drawer. But he can’t find it. Mob looked under his desk, in a drawer, then under his bed and he finally found them. He put his arm to try and take it but his hand touched something else, something soft. When he pulled his arm from under his bed with the object, the object seemed to move? He looks at the object to see… a yellow ball? He moves the ball around on his fingers to see absolutely nothing. He is pretty sure he didn’t have a yellow ball in his house. He puts the ball on his nightstand and moved his arm under the bed to catch his headphone and to put it on to hear his game who was still somehow connected to the PC. he go back to his game to look around to find Verity who seem to have disappeared from his world… he is not sure if this is a good or a bad things. He got to Twixxel’s house to see the ‘blood’ disappear. He went to the lookout and saw it was fixed. Mob goes back to look for Twixxel’s secret hideout but can’t find it. He looked everywhere for a hole but nothing. He tries to remember where it was but he can’t remember. He goes back to his base, and walks around until he finds his base because he was getting too used to asking Verity to find his base. When he arrived, he went inside to look at the second floor but nothing. Mob closes the world and closes his laptop to his face on the screen. “Did Verity disappear? That doesn't make sense.” Mob sighs and walks to his bed to let himself fall on it and wait until sleep catches him again. His eyes move to the window, he feels looked at. He moved to close his curtain before laying back down on his bed and waiting for the sleep to come. When it did, he closed his eyes and hoped he would not have a nightmare again.

The yellow ball grows a smile and two smile eyes, his eyes move to Mob sleeping. “You look different in real life… You look beautiful.”
