Baek Saheon leaving his psychopath roommate in the house, only to come across an even crazier guy

Summary:

As the title said, that really is all that happens, and I’m lazy to try and come up with a summary.

Notes:

Comments are greatly appreciated, would also be welcome to any typos I made being pointed out.

Thank you, hope you enjoy.

Chapter 1: Baek Saheon goes through it

Chapter Text

Imagine, just for a second, what the worst possible thing that could happen to you would be.

You may think it’s blah blah blah blah, whatever, doesn’t matter, the worst thing that could happen to you, without a question, will always be, being caught unawares in a darkness.

When it’s not even on the job, no, when you’re not even on the clock. And that’s just your misfortune.

Just your luck.

Baek Saheon’s luck has always been shitty.

And it wasn’t even his first time in a situation like it.

He had been taking a break, a very brief one mind you, ‘out for a walk’, away from his psychopath of a roommate, and his creepy pink bunny doll that was always either in his coat pocket, sitting next to him, or on the drawers ‘looking over him while he was sleeping’.

Not creepy at all.

Yeah, no, he needed to get out of that house.

He thought he’d deserved to. His heart couldn’t handle it today, after what he’d gone through…

Now as he was walking around in the perpetual darkness, stumbling his way left and right from the light source that seemed to be coming from nowhere and everywhere all at once, he thinks he definitely didn’t do anything to warrant all of this.

But darknesses certainly didn’t care whether you think you deserved to be in it or not, they have always been the unrelenting horrors unleashed for nothing but their own convenience it seemed.

And it was all his fault that he’d let his eyes wander to the poster he’d seen taped on a light pole-

What would you do, if you went inside a room that only ㅁㅁ

…And that had been it

That’s all he remembers before he realized he’d been walking inside the darkness for who knows how long.

The one good thing about the whole ordeal (for now, he reminded himself), was that he seemed to be the only one in it, that meant he wouldn’t have to guard against anyone (or anything) except the darkness at least-

The thought didn’t have time to last long before he saw the familiar ominous glow up ahead.

It was red.. but it wasn’t the perfect circular red halo of Kim Soleum’s, it was…jagged? It looked more… violent than any other he’d seen so far. It almost felt physical, as though you could get cut on it, or impaled.

Which were all the warning signs he needed to turn tail, and try to run as fast as he could, back to where he came from.

The important part being ‘try’.

Before he could start, he’d shivered from realizing he’d already caught the ‘thing’s’ attention, which meant it would be safer if he didn’t make any moves, lest it chase after him immediately.

Until he thought he heard something he’d never thought he’d hear, it wasn’t any kind of sound a darkness would make, no matter how many times, no matter how many of them tried to make it sound like it, they could never make it sound like a human, without some distortion, some eeriness to it that he’d grown familiar to identifying.

No, this voice (as impossible as that was to believe), sounded perfectly human.

Too perfect in fact…

“Hello. It seems we’ve both been caught in an unfortunate situation, might you know the way out?”

Baek Saheon willed everything in him not to immediately bolt on the spot, if the terrifying halo he’d seen hadn’t been warning enough, this was it.

No normal person caught up in a darkness, ever, reacted this calmly, and put together, like it really was just another day.

No bureau agent would ever be asking random people for the way out, they themselves went in to bring people out.

No daydream employee would ever even bother to ask a question as strange as that from anyone who they presumed to be a normal civilian, unless you counted Kim Soleum which definitely wasn’t helping with his nerves from the conclusion he was drawing.

And most of all, he didn’t want to think about the cult…

It seemed he’d been frozen up too long, for the thing’s voice to sound yet again, “I’m sorry, but are you okay?”

And instead of moving farther away from a seemingly frozen person inside a darkness, they stepped closer to him.

Baek Saheon nearly fainted on the spot from trying not to make his very prominent heartbeat heard.

Just his luck he seemed to have met Kim Soleum’s even ‘less human’ distant cousin inside of a darkness.
